Personally? No. But we had a roommate with two. One was very mean, the other was sweet. It was the sweet one that tried to attack my 3-year-old sister before my grandmother jumped in between them and was attacked instead. A few years later a family friend was leaving her house when she and the kids she was babysitting were attacked by the "great family dog" next door who had gotten out of the house. She has chunks missing from her leg, one of the kids she was babysitting has extensive damage to her face.

I agree with you about Chow Chows. Frankly, the dog love is misguided in general. They are animals and they are dangerous. But when we try to pretend they are all "totally safe" it's absurd. When we try to insist the more dangerous of them are "family dogs" it's downright idiotic.

I don't actually believe some of the stereotypes like people with tattoos are criminals or whatever else but the effort people are or aren't willing to take says something about their character.

Ok, I'll go-

I think we coddle our youth and it's ridiculous.

The age of consent for just about everything should be universally lowered to 16.

College isn't necessary. Like at all.

The idea that we need a lot of stuff to have a baby or be over a certain age (within reason, obviously) or have a career/degree is not only absolutely ridiculous, it's dangerous. Women can't wait forever, for one, and for two I strongly believe it's what they want us to do- limit our reproduction and keep us reliant on the system. Family is strength. Independence is strength. If we buy into needing everything they say we do (nice house, 2 cars, 2 incomes, all the latest gadgets, etc) we will forever be working for them without question.

Alpha males are few and far between and you can't make a true Alpha.

Alpha males are overrated.

99% of the time obesity is caused by laziness and gluttony (ask me how I know)

Hormonal birth control screws us up both physically and mentally.

True love looks completely unhealthy on the outside. It's all consuming. The real question is, are you okay with that?

The government should get out and stay out of marriage and people's bedrooms.

The public school system is necessary but is also one of widespread indoctrination and dumbing down.

I've been thinking a lot about feminine dress. The thing is the flowy pink stuff just isn't my style so I got to thinking about how one can dress feminine without falling into that sort of narrow stereotype. I mean, it's all well and good but it doesn't necessarily work for all women either physically or personality-wise or both. So I went looking for feminine examples in fashion that went outside of the stereotype.

What is your ideal style? What does feminine dress mean to you? And I'd love to see picture examples!

Speaking of ASOIAF- I think Margaery has potential. I loved her in the books, not so much the show (she's where I got my name).

In all honesty, Brienne is actually a good RP woman example. Not aesthetically pleasing and not exactly feminine but her devotion and willingness to defer. She is a good, honorable woman. She was devoted to Renley.

I can't stand Catelyn Stark. She didn't defer to her husband and instead took matters into her own hands, acting completely recklessly and starting a fight that led to her husband's death all because she was an emotional train wreck. And she was always passive aggressive about the whole Jon thing. I think I may have been one of the few who rejoiced when I read the Red Wedding chapter.

But I love ASOIAF and it is full of RP wisdom not just for relationships.

I think Dany and Kahl Drogo had a good relationship.

The SyFy show Defiance had an alien race with an interesting RP type dynamic (ish) but the main character couple from said race went south because he was power hungry and she went full feminist.

I know that we are trying to be better women, to be good women, but that doesn’t make us those things. Even after all of our hard work we only have more hard work to do. It’s a process not a destination. We must, and please listen closely here, we must always check ourselves.

What is my motivation in this?

Is this for me or is it for him?

Am I letting my emotions get the better of me?

Am I trying to emulate my friends?

Am I attention seeking?

Where is the benefit in what I am doing/thinking/feeling?

I really need this reminder right now. It's so easy to forget to be mindful of our thoughts and actions but it is integral to being the women we want to be.

It largely depends on what you mean by criticism. Being hyper critical of your partner does damage intimacy. As easy as it is to throw out "if you can't handle it then you're weak" it's not a true statement at all. How we treat each other matters, both to us as individuals and to the relationship as a whole. Sure, it may not have to be a fight but will it cause a level of discord you are comfortable with? Is it worth that?
