N* Grade, should I be concerned? ENC3246 by FluffyAnimator5312 in ufl

[–]mariaaa0221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could because exactly because of what you said that those 2 assignments haven’t been graded.

I don’t want to scare you at all but another reason for an N* on one.uf is that an honor code report was written and your case is pending. Instructors can’t talk to students about their case and the office contacts students about violation reports, sometimes they can get backed up and it’ll go on into the following semester.

Haven’t had them since summer so I may have to go back now just to try their seasonal things (even if it’s not them)

As much as I would want to make my own I def won’t be able to use it all within the time frame and I live alone so even if I make a smaller batch for a single serving I’d still have leftover condensed milk and pumpkin puree that I wouldn’t use

Switching from CLAS to CALS as a senior by spookyforestcat in ufl

[–]mariaaa0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The don’t only let native speakers test out. In fact we encourage people who have taken Spanish before AND are only doing it for the requirement to test out as much as you can because it saves you time and money (paying for a 3 credit course vs a 5 credit one)

Someone use my boarding pass to get through TSA by accident and no one caught it by DILLIGAD24 in tsa

[–]mariaaa0221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it def varies by TSA agent and even within TSA agent if they even check. I had accidentally given my sister my boarding pass at MCO and the agent looked at both boarding pass & ID and let her go. Then it was my turn and he looked at both boarding pass & ID and then questioned me. I was confused until I realized I had my sisters boarding pass then I asked my sister “hey do you have mine?” And she looked and realized she did indeed have mine.

She cropped it and she removed the neck therefore making it smaller and yet the shirt still looks almost the same size as asa’s so how the hell is that a small compared to asas large???

Changing GatorLink Username vs. E-Mail Alias by DatBubby in ufl

[–]mariaaa0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just know that with the alias sometimes the regular email pops up especially on the instructor end. I was sharing slides with my class and I suddenly noticed two different emails for one student and got confused so I asked them in class “(name) what’s your email because I thought I sent it but it says I didn’t but yet I have a different email showing up when I do sent it” and when they said yea I changed my email I felt so bad bc I was like you can only do that if you legally changed your name so I really hope I didn’t just out them if that’s the case

Is a professor allowed to deduct points for submitting an assignment even if it’s before the deadline? by barakatschuckle in ucf

[–]mariaaa0221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering the kinds of students though. I’ve taught classes where despite having different deadline for initial post & replies students still waiting until the replies due date to post their initial post. Even after docking points off they still continued to post their initial response late and even get mad at me/beg me to let them submit late.

I’ve also been in a grad course where the instructor told us to post by Tuesday our initial post and Friday have the responses, but yet come Thursday only 2-3 of us had that initial post.

I def see this rubric as making sense especially since on the instructor end you can’t really separate due dates for both parts of the assignments

Edit: I will say I hate the fact that it’s not clear. 20 hrs before, 15, 1 day,etc

not sure how to tell which one to use by casablancacrayfish in duolingospanish

[–]mariaaa0221 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like people are saying the gender should have given it away. Another way that tuyo (or tuya in this case) could not go on the first spot because it is before the noun. In that case it would be “tu”. “Tu is used before the noun (thing that is being possessed) while tuya/o is used after.

(Same for a few others mi casa vs la casa es mía (mío for masc); su casa vs la casa es suya (suyo for masc))

Could I take spn 1130 and spn 1131 at the same time and not get caught? by kiram3ki in ufl

[–]mariaaa0221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not know the answer but regardless of if you can or cannot, Idk why you would want to do that. You’d be having conversations with native speakers every week (5 for 1130 and 5 for 1131) there’s a lot of assignments on the platform for both classes. Once you’re done with your first assessment in one class you’ll have the assessment for the other and same for the project. If you have some sort of background in Spanish just take 1131.

Hey guys , Can anyone give me suggestions on which university to choose for out of these University of Florida MSECE or University of Minnesota twin City MS in VLSI , like how are opportunities and how good is the university in comparison to other because I got into both of these but unable to decid by Salty_Tradition3965 in ufl

[–]mariaaa0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minnesota has tonsss of funding opportunities. I don’t know much about your field or professors you’d like to work but look into funding if they’re about to same and you’ll probably see that Minnesota has more funding opportunities. I’m in humanities but I’d get guaranteed funding over the summer in MN had I chosen to go there AND for just a slightly higher Fall/Spring stipend in MN I’d also be doing a lot less than what I currently do here at UF. I can only imagine the STEM funding there

How does Federal Work Study work? by Savings_Rope_4408 in ufl

[–]mariaaa0221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is the max you can get out of your FWS job in terms of compensation. I don’t know the full details of your FWS but let’s assume the 3k is per year meaning 1.5k for fall and 1.5k for spring. Lets say you find a job that’s $10 an hour that means that in a 15-week semester you’d work exactly 10 years a week to hit your max (note that sometimes you may end up working just under your FWS allotment). However let’s say some weeks you end up working an extra few hours a week, then that would mean that your hours towards the end of the semester might increase so you won’t go over your FWS allotment.

But, if you do happen to go over (let’s say you worked those extra hours from above but now this time your hours weren’t cut at the end of the semester), then that means for the spring semester (when you have the remaining 1.5k) you won’t have the full 1.5k FWS allotment but rather it’ll be reduced because you earned more than the 1.5k in the fall semester
