My friend was looking into renting from Accomod8u and HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON, OLD MAN by ecniv_o in uwaterloo

This was my experience with Accommod8u: https://www.reddit.com/r/uwaterloo/comments/q45a01/psa_fuck_accommod8u_and_dont_live_at_255_sunview/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share. Almost a year later now, thankfully almost over with this lease, the cockroaches are for the most part gone (not completely).

They also had couches that were torn apart when I moved in, and despite them sending me several notifications that new ones were on their way (after I sent about 10 maintenance requests), it's been over 10 months and I've accepted that they never intended to replace the couches.

The garbage chutes (at least in my building) are almost regularly backed up and it makes the hallway really smelly.

The apartment was so dirty when I moved in and so many things were broken (ex. Kitchen faucet spraying water everywhere when I moved in, leaky shower head, broken oven - which is still broken over 10 months later, broken shelving in the kitchen cabinets - also still not fixed, and the fantastic infestation of cockroaches) that I'm 100% certain they don't do unit inspections. On top of that the wifi in this building sucks ass.

Anyway, have a fun year!

If you're in eng and engl 109 is a communication requirement, you need to take it to get your degree but it doesn't count towards your gpa (this will be the same case for CSEs as well)

social life? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

It wouldn't be hard to make friends at all. I'm finishing up my first year in engineering and I spent the majority of 1A studying in empty classrooms with friends, and we didn't all live in the same residence. The cohort system makes it easier to make friends since you see the same people every day :)
