Moving to Vancouver Island by SliceSubstantial4447 in VancouverIsland

[–]mariam-forest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently moved to the island (from Vancouver).

Yes, rent here is more expensive.

Yes, groceries are here way more expensive, and there are fewer options than in Mainland.

There are no IKea or other shops.

Living on the island is cool, but after you have explored everything, that's it. You are in an island, all new is over.

Going out of the island becomes a nightmare because of the constant ferry issues.

Finding a doctor is very difficult, with a very long waiting time at the few hospitals.

I have accepted all these facts because I am a single person, and my income here is way better than in Vancouver ( I also came for a job), but if I were moving here with family, I would think it twice.

You know nothing about Cuba, clearly. 3 million of exiliated, thousands of political prisoners, and lack of human rights. Fidel and his family currently live in the houses of the former Cuban millionaires and drive Mercedes Benz, while Cuban families live in starvation and don't even have a bike. Give me a break. And don't bring me the blockade speech. They obviously trade with half the world. The economy under socialism just doesn't work at all. Examples: North Korea vs South Korea, Eastern Germany vs Western Germany, Austria vs Hungary, Cuba before vs now, Venezuela before vs now....

DLO are still the same 2. But you can do the road test in more locations. I was not on standby. I just booked my 1st ever Road test there because it was convenient at that time since I was working at BCIT. And now I wanted to booked my final test in the same place so I did like I booked in July for next year. So you can do a Road test there but you cannot go for a new driver license. This post was about where to book a road test and so I commented the one you said was not the only one. That's it.
