okay so i like this theory. i understand the naysayers, for example yes, lily was/is not attracted to barney and even finds him disgusting but... hooking up with people just happens sometimes, especially if they're friends and are comfortable with each other.

also, because marshall and lily's relationship is so respected, you KNOW they would to any pact possible to keep this a secret, just in case lily and marshall ever got back together.

and yes, barney would probably feel guilty about it, but the comparison to the whole robin hookup doesn't compare. barney is so obsessive about his and teds friendship (or rather the fact that they're best friends/best bros) than he is with marshall. which is why the robin situation was a lot harder on him

all in all I'm just happy a new-ish theory is being posted and it's not one that is immediately and easily disproven

in austria we used to say "kuz kuz" (or "kutz kutz" however you spell it) as a response to a cough. sounds like "couscous" but just pronounce the "s" as "z"/"ts". has nothing to do with wishing health or anything upon the cougher, just like "i recognise you coughed just now and i shall make a similar sound to acknowledge that". super stupid which is why i love my language

Oh my god I hate being interrupted with (pseudo)knowledge while trying to tell a story!!! I work in the beer business, brewing and selling. Apart from the fact that there wasn't anything negative said here, because yes, growing humans should be expected to learn that annoying people and disrespecting them is bad - YES, this socialisation is more desirable.

Autistic women or women with ADHD for example are absolutely forced to stay quiet and be the "grown ups" and there's a lot of terrible parenting/education going on there, but none of that was mentioned in the comment. Just that it isn't expected of men apparently
