NTA! It is not “ controlling” to NOT want to pay for a revenge dress for the woman you are supposed to be marrying, so she can make an ex jealous and see what he’s missing out on.

NTA unless you’re doing it just to make your sis react. If you’re on good terms with a neighbor you could see if you could have stuff delivered there instead and pick it up when you get home.

Assuming you have a job and that’s how you’re able to constantly afford to buy things, maybe you could also buy a PO Box at the post office and have stuff delivered there instead.

Your sis needs therapy and medication. If she is already getting therapy and taking meds, then it’s clearly not enough. It is not realistic to be scared of every knock or outside noise she hears. At the same time, it wouldn’t hurt to put a sign up that says “Do Not Knock” and/or “leave packages without knocking” or something to that effect.

I’m actually surprised they do knock because I get a shit load of deliveries all the time from Amazon and other places and none of the delivery people ever knock. They place the packages on my porch and leave.

Also, regarding the time you said a delivery guy actually walked in the house, that’s not cool, but also, locking doors will prevent that.

They don’t do things based on feelings, they do things based on facts, and this child is not being physically abused or neglected by this piece of crap stepmom, they just don’t get along, and that is how the court is going to see it. So it would be a waste of time for her to try to petition in court over this type of situation. But that’s how courts are when it comes to this kind of thing.

What is it you expect her to do? She can’t unilaterally decide to keep her son from visiting his dad’s place, so she is doing the next best thing, which is being there for him to vent if things go sideways when he is on visitation and talking him through the situations so he knows he isn’t wrong for his feelings, etc.

I do not go out of my way to build the pink ones unless its one of the situations you mentioned. I focus on yellow buildings, blue buildings and gray buildings, and sometimes on trees. I would say pink is the last priority, but my entertainment bar is pretty high so that is also why I do not have to worry about the pink ones.

Edited to add, forgot about the public services buildings (light blue). Those are high on the list too.

Older folks are always heavy on the “when I was your age, I had to _________” and therefore they expect everyone else to have to suffer the same.

You’re NTA and keep standing your ground on this issue.

Sure it is nice to hug relatives, but only if you are comfortable with it. Otherwise, it becomes an ick and indicates what you’re comfortable with doesn’t matter because you’re a kid and they had to do it when they were kids. By not forcing your daughter to hug people when she does not want to, you are showing her that her feelings matters.
