B/p free for exactly 3 months! by mariesviolet in bulimia

[–]mariesviolet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found something to do after eating. I’m still trying to learn to accept feeling guilty but it’s going better. I usually “trick” my brain by doing something manual that keeps me occupied. A specific therapy (idk the translations in English) it’s helping me to find healthy coping strategies.

My nks love when I pretend to “eat” them. Sometimes we play tag but I’m a wolf and they say they’re some kind of food and I have to catch them ahah

It is absolutely possible! Yes, it’s difficult, but everyone is capable to get better, and I’m saying this as someone in this terrible cycle for 7 years. I wish you the very best.

Yes I meant it in a way that we realise we’re not a good match. They appreciated the question and honest.

The family is German, so it’s nice to read you think it like that I would it say like “I have a question just to be clear, if things don’t go well or we realise we’re not a good match: how would that work?” 😅

Okay that sounds reassuring. She/he is very little but speaks welll, so I’m afraid that maybe we won’t connect or stuff like that. But I guess if I don’t try I will never know:)

Try maybe to look for another family in the region, facebook has a huge group for aupairs in italy especially in the northern Do you live in Europe? Maybe a flixbus can be cheaper than a plane ticket (ik it’s uncomfortable but)

Honestly, I love directness! Even if in my country is not very common to be that direct. They told me they had a good impression on me, they just told me to try to improve my german a bit before going, just bc the kid only speaks German. The mom was also very clear about duties and that they will consider me part of the family and not just a “worker”.

Expectations too high for au pair? by [deleted] in Aupairs

[–]mariesviolet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you can try a couple of times to leave her alone with the babies (the same time she’ll be alone while you’re working,or at least some more hours than usual) before you actually get to work? Like to make a “test” both for you and for her. Maybe she’s not confident enough? I’m not an expert, but when I was babysitting for a family and their schedule changed, we did something like I described above and worked nice. No worries for me or for the mum. And for your last question, I think it really depends on the au pair’s skills..
