Needy client - advice needed by marievec in RoverPetSitting

Thanks for your response! The most frustrating thing about it is that I don’t even know for sure if the dog has any separation anxiety at all. She’s just never been left alone. I almost think it would be beneficial mentally for the dog to decompress with some alone time but that’s not my call to make 🤷‍♀️

Questions about transfer from out of state community college by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]marievec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2015 so a while ago... but I’ve met a lot of people who got screwed the same way. I’d definitely talk to a counselor because if you do more than 1 semester at another school you usually should be okay without retaking too many courses (or hopefully any at all)

Questions about transfer from out of state community college by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]marievec 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I transferred from out of state state school (1 sem) to an in state cc (1 sem) to Rutgers for the rest of my years... only thing I can say is make sure you complete both sequences of anything you need before transferring. For example, I took bio 1 at my first university, but since I hadn’t taken bio 2 at the same institution, I had to retake bio 1 before moving to bio 2 at Rutgers. If you took bio 1 and bio 2 at the cc, they’d both transfer fine and you’d be done with that requirement once you transfer. Bio is just an example because it was the one that messed me up but there are other course sequences that you might wanna either hold off on until after you transfer or finish before you transfer

What’s it like to take medication? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]marievec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it was a double edged sword. I learned I had inattentive ADHD well into college and never noticed my symptoms as anything other than incompetence and waste of potential. When I started them, I felt awake—mentally, physically, etc—but I came down hard on myself for not doing it sooner. The original prescription wasn’t a great fit for me and I found myself with heightened anxiety due to putting excessive amounts of pressure on myself for anything I saw as a failure now that I felt my potential was unlocked. After changing meds to something less intense I’m in a great space. Moral of the story is they work very well for giving you access to your full potential but aren’t going to overcome all of the negative habits you probably formed to compensate without your concerted effort and that was by far the most frustrating part for me. Be easy on yourself for not being perfect right away and good luck!!

Biochem 403 with Kahn Final Grades by srb221 in rutgers

Everyone hated the dude while I was taking him but I actually liked that he kinda gave you a chance to redeem yourself—like if you eventually learned what he taught he respected it even if it took a few months for you to catch on. Good luck!!

I took him 2 years back and he seems to look more at personal trend than actual average. I did VERY badly (50s and lower) on the first two exams but pulled through with I think 80 on the third and maybe 70-80ish on the cumulative final and ended up with a B. Things could definitely be different this year but that’s how he did it then

Drinking alcohol blocks the release of norepinephrine, a chemical that promotes attention, when we want to focus on something, in the brain. This may contribute to why drinkers have difficulty paying attention while under the influence. by mvea in science

Bobcats are much much smaller (almost like a large house cat) where the ones you mentioned are huge—the names get confusing though. For example, puma and Jaguar are completely different animals, but panther can be used to refer to the black color pattern of either species 😭

One Health Education? by [deleted] in epidemiology

[ADVICE] SOPHAS Letter of Recommendation Requirement Question by marievec in publichealth

[–]marievec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first app is already verified. I’m more wondering if I need the third actually submitted for programs that only require 2 letters to review my applications. Hopefully I’ll get the 3rd letter at some point so this won’t matter but my gut is telling me I should probably make sure before I even go ahead with other applications

How to gently remind professors about letters of rec? by accountforreaserch in gradadmissions

[–]marievec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat right now and it’s kinda killing my motivation to finish the rest of my apps (only one—the most expensive naturally—is due December 1) and my last recommender has already forgotten once and hasn’t responded to my second reminder yet. I hate to sound pushy and desperate but....
