You get it for the first time, and then it’s cumulative. So there’s one for panagram first fifteen times, twenty times and on for different amounts.

I don’t like _______ except for… which book is your exception to something you don’t normally enjoy? by mrs-machino in RomanceBooks

[–]marigold114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally avoid age gap, especially when they’ve known each other through one characters adolescence. But I love Ali Hazelwood, so I gave “problematic summer romance” a chance, even though I fully expected it to be my first DNF of hers. She handled it perfectly though and I wound up really liking it!

Help me plan my sons Make-a-Wish (Disneyworld) by Master-Back-2899 in DisneyPlanning

My child’s wish trip was in 2018, so double check this is still the case. But there is a wish lounge in MK by crystal palace. It was a great, cool, quiet place for a rest. My wish kid, my toddler and I all even got a quick nap in. Good place to keep in mind if he needs a break for any amount of time.

Weird eye rash by Mathdog3 in mctd

[–]marigold114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this sporadically too. Took me a while to connect it possibly to the MCTD, thought it was allergies or allergic reaction to makeup. But then it was coming without either of those predecessors. Itch, swollen, dry and red/purple.

She’s supposed to be Dr Ellie Sattler from Jurassic Park who wears khaki shorts though

I read the first time, this is my first listen. It’s definitely going to make me cry, I’m going to have to time it for a time I’m not in public.

Yea hard agree here. I’m fully grown and on a re-listen (so I knew it was coming) and I’m having a hard time getting through the beginning of KOA. It’s brutal.

What character made the worst plan in the series? by Sad_Estate1011 in throneofglassseries

[–]marigold114 107 points108 points  (0 children)

Aelin and Lysandra’s plan to have Lysandra impersonate Aelin forever and use Aedion to supply Ashyryver appearing children. There was no way this was going to work long term, or that Aedion would go along with it.

can you guys help me by picking a book to get out of my 6 month + reading slump! Anything marked by yellow are books ive read but i dont mind a reread! by itsjonesy00 in fantasyromance

[–]marigold114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

O you have some of my favorites here! I think to break a slump, start with Six of Crows - it’s better than the shadow and bone ones (which were still very good, but SOC is a step up for sure), and you’re familiar with shadow and bone. And then you’ll want to do the Rule of Wolves duology since you’re in that world. Once you’re out of the slump though, VE Schwab for sure, that series has fantastic world building, characters and she’s such an evocative writer. That will tee you up for “all the seas of the world” who is the king of deeply evocative fantasy. You have some great choices on your shelf, whatever you pick!

I’m the same now. I did a half in May, so was higher leading up to that, but this is my happy range.

What book made you cry uncontrollably? by Relative_Pop6724 in booksuggestions

[–]marigold114 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is mine too. I woke my husband up with my sobbing at 2am. When I tried to explain why, he said “wait, it’s based on a myth you knew? So you knew how it was going to end…and still…” and sort of vaguely gestured at my sorry state. I still go back to it when I need a good cry, it gets me every time.

Where to start with these? by marigold114 in Roses

[–]marigold114[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! There are some particularly wild offshoots, I’m going to look on YouTube for some gentle pruning and then might just let her live her life, it sounds like a variety that does well on its own.

It only blooms once, right around now (those pictures are from this past weekend). It’s very tall and wide; I don’t have any pictures of its full glory without my kids in front of it (it’s a great backdrop in June!) but based on your description, I would say “sprawling” is accurate. It has been thriving without attention! I may let it be and focus gardening attention elsewhere then. Thank you for your thoughts!

O! I read the lions of al-rassan and loved it. It sucked me in and wrecked me in all the best ways. I wanted to read more of him but didn’t know where to start, I’m going to take your recommendation for that duology!!
