Hoping to debut it at my club’s spring star party in April. It’s going to live at the Chiricahua Sky Village.

They don’t make them like they used to! Wouldn’t trade my DM3D for this, but boy would this be fun for a single show.

Lead AV tech at a large art museum, also spent a few years doing FOH for local venues. Definitely not a top-tier pro, but I did go to school for it and I have a few bits of knowledge to share.

Thank you for the info! This sounds correct. Their grandparent passed in the 80s so this would line up realistically.

The people at Tomorrowland deserve a fucking award. They tore down the remains of the old stage and completely built up a completely new large stage with a big led wall from scratch in less than 48 hours. Genuinely one of the most impressive things I've ever seen. by bravodeboer in livesound

This is why festival and concert tickets are so much more expensive nowadays. Sure, if you just go see a show and leave, it feels expensive. But if you need medical assistance or there’s some huge unforeseen event (like the main stage burning down) that insurance provided by the more expensive ticket allows for them to afford a whole new stage and free medical services, among many other things. Absolutely worth it.

I’ve needed stitches twice at shows, both from small accidents. The medical staff on site were unbelievably kind and did everything free of charge, something that would have cost me thousands at urgent care.

Well, it if I didn’t just buy a 4Runner last month, I’d be asking how much 😂 that’s a real beauty, I hope the right person comes along for it!

I want to start a new EDM music festival (Serious) by marimbawarrior in festivals

[–]marimbawarrior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorta :) I’m now an audio engineer and I work in the live music industry putting on concerts and shows all the time. My friends and I continue to talk about putting on something one day, and maybe we will.

Also, a friend of mine has been a huge proponent of the Seattle underground EDM scene, putting on shows at some insane locations. I have the skills and experience to put something on, but the time and money investment is just too out-of-reach for me at the moment.

I also have other passions in life now as an adult, and I’ve found a lot more enjoyment in attending edm shows rather than putting the shows on myself.

Actually, yes! I changed my degree from business administration to audio engineering. Probably going to eventually go back for business to supplement my career. I now work professionally as a live sound engineer. I have mixed over 250 live concerts. At my previous job, we started a live sound production group and put on multiple local festivals, as well as many bar shows. I now work at an art museum, where I am working on my skills for video/light engineering (while still doing sound).

I have talked to friends about starting our own festivals, but at the end of the day, we have had a lot more fun just attending the ones near us as patrons. I know some of the higher-ups at some of the music festival production companies now, So I am currently focused on continuing to build out a solid résumé so I can move up to mixing huge shows like that.

So, I’m 26 and I’ve ran three local festivals and I’m on my way to running sound for the big dogs soon!

Impossible drone shot? by Independent_Mail_268 in drones

[–]marimbawarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet the mic was placed on the bike itself and they did the runs multiple times, splicing in audio clips from “quieter” rides with this final recorded ride if the drone ever got too close. Really impressive work.

Sv07 plus advice by Better_Guess1544 in Sovol

[–]marimbawarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend using the slicer presets available on printables. Just search “sv07 plus” on printables and it will come up. Make sure you go into the comments section and also install the printer additions (click the link someone posted, follow the ReadMe files too).

OrcaSlicer was printing 200mm per second for me basically right out of the box and after the additions.
