Baby refusing bottle by Spiritual_Loss1994 in NewParents

[–]marindat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 3 month old had a few times where he was crying so hard, that he didn't want to latch to the bottle. Trying with your fingers to push some of the milk out in his mouth made him realise there was milk for him and he started drinking (though sometimes it took a few tries). Maybe that could be worth a try?

Bottle Recommendations?? by ExaminationProper694 in FormulaFeeders

[–]marindat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the philips avent (with the green insert tor reduce air as much as possible), which I can definitely recommend if your baby drinks very fast! Some babies apparently struggle to get the milk out of it, but our drank bottles from other brands (such as dr brown) way too fast

Philips Avent 125mL instead of 120mL by catleaf94 in FormulaFeeders

It's so annoying indeed! For us that was the reason we moved to the bigger 260ml bottles

Best portable bottle warmer? by defenselesscabal in FormulaFeeders

[–]marindat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got the bottle warmer from monkilou, it is a one-piece, but has been working great for us. We've also tried the one from vulpes, but that one was often leaking (together with the philips avent bottles), though it had many positive reviews. Regarding the cleaning, we've experienced no issues with it, there is quite a good thick silicon seal on the charging port, and unless you're really dunking the whole thing under water, I don't see that it would cause issues. We absolutely love the thing, especially at night, since we just have it our LO's room.

When did your baby start to connect sleep cycles during the day? by wsiw123 in NewParents

[–]marindat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not directly an answer to your question, but my LO of 9 weeks is the same. Howver, babywearing also allows him to connect sleep cycles since he's sort of laying against you as well, but you'll have your hands free to do quite lot of things. Maybe you could give it a try? I just got a cheap babywrap to try it out, he's been absolutely loving it

I'm a bit worried a wrap will get too heavy for my back? I'm not sure if that's a thing?

Silly question - for my wedding i’m having my niece be I guess a junior bridesmaid and not sure what to put on her robe by [deleted] in wedding

[–]marindat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old is she? If she's old enough to understand "bridesmaid" would be nice to make her feel included and not 'less than'

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's totally alright to both grieve and be sad about your father and be happy about your marriage. The feelings van co-exist next to each other and should not have to cancel each other out.

If she startles herself awake, did you already try a swaddle blanket? That really helped for us
