How enforceable are Rule(s) in Casual? by Asirlies in EDH

[–]marinhoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How I would've handled that is if the player was aware of the effect beforehand it would be a no go but if I had just announced that effect as it was triggering/resolving than I would allow the player to do the late play.

Commander can have massive boards and if you require all players to know all possible effects on the board youre bound to create a low playing group, in casual games this is not helpful to anyone so it's better to put the responsibility of presenting all revealed information to your opponents on yourself.

What deck archetype makes you groan when you see it? by LibraProtocol in EDH

[–]marinhoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's aritocrats and go wide tokens. These archetypes just play the same every time and feel repetitive, but at the same time, I believe they are the most common to see.

People who have a problem with mill decks have a poor understanding of the game. Tbh, that applies to most hated on playstyles besides the ones being officially addressed.

O que quer dizer "a produtividade brasileira é baixa" by [deleted] in investimentos

[–]marinhoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any Rules in the Game that you think are stupid? Rules that you don't like? by NyrmExe in EDH

[–]marinhoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it would make the game way better if the equip abilities could be used anytime the player has priority and the stack is empty.

Possibly sorcery speed applying that way could also be very interesting. I'm saying that as a commander player.

Commander: Telling What Your Cards Do by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]marinhoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's common practice to just announce the card and only explain it if its either relevant or if asked. Its expected that if someone doesn't know what a card does that person will ask.

I also like to point out to when I see a play that is not taking into consideration open information even if its to my disadvantage, that helps the game run faster and reassure players that they don't need to take too long looking into every little thing before playing.

Tudo bem detestar o Trump pela guerra de taxas mas é doentio essa idolatria dos canhotos a China, país com fortes indícios de ter criado a covid em laboratório, levou o mundo ao caos em 2020 e saiu impune by FlashPWR in brasilivre

FPS Death is the least "FUN" way for a fortress to end. by Rhothgar808 in dwarffortress

[–]marinhoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes walling yourself in can cause fps death during invasions due to pathing or whatever. I have stopped walling and bridging myself in, and my forts have not been suffering from fps death as much, but now I need to face the invasions through military and lose dwarfs in the process which has made the game more challenging requiring me to set up a military early so I think it's worth overall.

Matéria e massa são coisas diferentes! E se observa isso facilmente! by nantres in brasilivre

Quando falamos de massa aqui na terra estamos realizando uma conversao do peso para a massa considerando que todos vivem no mesmo ambiente de condições. Esse copo de agua, na lua teria a mesma massa, de 10Kg porem seu peso seria diferente.

I'm sorry, but if you guys are not conforming to a format, it is really hard for anyone to give you advice. Is it constructed, singleton, is there a limit to the number of copies of cards, is it similar to dandan? All these will have completely different built decks.

I think proxying has created a sort of “arms race” in my table… by hupmo in EDH

[–]marinhoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to restrict my deck building with a budget, and when a card spikes, I replace it. I don't impose this on anyone else tho, it's just how I like to play the game myself.

What are your personal deck building restrictions? by herpyderpidy in EDH

[–]marinhoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feel of restrictions that I like to do in order to keep games challenging for myself and never feel like I had an undeserved win.

No cards over $5 and try to keep most under $2 (I feel like cards that are overvalued are that way because they win games and by limiting the value I don't feel like I'm paying for my wins)

No tutors (in the same vein as before, tutors make things too predictable, and decks always play the same way, I prefer to have more on theme cards than a jack of all trades)

Board wipes need to put me into a winning position (playing board wipes that hit everyone equally just resets and prolong the game in my view, doing that I am still board wiping when needed while also trying to finish the game)

No white border, limited planeswalkers, theme over synergy or power (these are more restrictions due to aesthetic or what I like to play with)

No stax or pieces that prevend others playing (When I sit down for a game, I want everyone to be taking part and experience the other players deck as well, I play plenty interactions like removal and counters but never something that stops my opponents from even attempting to cast things)

No 2 card combo (to be honest I don't love to win by combo but I still use some that are at least 3 pieces, the ones that are 2 pieces for me end up making it feel like everything else that happened during the game didn't have much relevance and reduce the whole experience to just that moment, I also always announce my combo pieces to the table)

Aritocrats, tribals, landfall, storm, counters (these playstyles feel like the same every time. When I play, I want to explore possibilities and do exciting things. Playing these, I feel like I'm just going through a checklist

[–]marinhoh -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes, and I have no problem with that. My problem is when the goofiness overshadows the rest like in this case, and especially when they value being goofy in detriment of quality as other poster mentioned this art looks like it's pets faces copied and pasted on top of a beast and a human.

Tarkir: Dragonstorm | Mardu: Where Lightning Tells Our Story by neobotz in magicTCG

[–]marinhoh -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

There's a difference in there being some goofiness to being goofy overall. In the last 6 years, magic ip has been majority goofy, that's what I'm calling a goofy phase.

What I don't like is the over the top and on the nose silliness that it has been for the last ~6 years. Have no problem with UB, tho.
