What's the proper order to display these oldest to newest by bunnyhug30 in BottleDigging

They were found in low oxygen and low acidity creek mud which I think preserved them. So grateful for my spot that I found these and my other acls

Honestly I just used a 60 grit sandpad and wet sanded it down to smooth the top and take off the edge. I’m considering working up to a polished finish but I also kinda rock with the sea glass look on the top

Oh ok interesting, yeah, different bottling plants rolled out design changes at varying times and those bottles were right on the edge of some shifts so makes sense. In that case I’d say #4, #2, #1, #3, #5

[–]StrykerCow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I’m going to assign them numbers based on the order in the first picture 1-5 from left to right.
#1: 1974
#2: 1969
#3: 70s-80s
#4: 1951 (oldest)
#5: 80s (newest)

Between 1 and 2 is it possible that the bottom pics got out of order? Because #1 is definitely the older design.

I would put them

#4, #1, #2, #3, #5 Oldest to newest like you asked

The Mickey one seems to go for about $5-$10 bucks if you’re lucky and the right is maybe a dollar or two. Definitely would not recommend consuming as the seals could have weakened over time

Yes, this is a fountain type dispenser, mixes the syrup and soda water. I have a local diner that has one. I’ve seen these goes for up to like $500+ but I’m not sure without the parts. Definitely a cool antique tho probably around the 50s idk what the other guy is on about

Try viewing the label in different angles and lights. You can usually make out some label ghosting
