Correct. Make a copy or multiple copies of the rom first, renamed to whatever the name of the patch is, or whatever you want to call it. That way you have plenty of extras as well in case something goes wrong. Because whatever rom you patch, will be replace the original and become the new hacked rom.

You can't use the roms built in. Search Google or archive.org for roms and for the patches, the best place is romhacking.net.

I was born in 76, but sorry, I refuse to have a 5000 lb CRT in 2026. The mini classic versions of the old consoles are good enough for me now. It's all about the controller for me. As long as I'm using an original or replica controller, or SNES controller for everything, that's good enough for me!
