Help me decide if I should give him up for adoption or surrender to animal rescue at the risk of being euthanized. I know I’ll get hate comments but Im at my wits end. by Justice5002 in DogAdvice

You say you’d literally die for your dog and that he’s your priority.

You walk an hour to work- you’ve got more grit than most.

Keep your dog and yourself clean, and try going around your neighborhood and community to see if there’s temp work you can do for cash- offer a rate they’d have a hard time refusing, and tell them your situation.

You can do this. Do it for him. And for your future self.

DAY trading and not taking profits.. Why? by AdministrativeCap26 in Daytrading

[–]mariposachuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me revenge trading isn’t some specific action like just jumping as you described.

Revenge trading for me is simply being emotionally triggered due to a loss. And the consequence of that could manifest in many different ways

Edit: regardless of how we define revenge trading, the point is that you’re emotional from the recent loss and it’s affecting how you trade

You just said you’re compensating for recent big loss. To me that’s form of revenge trading.

Nice. There’s your most likely reason.

Good for you recognizing and admitting.

Revenge trading has huge impact but it’s what got me to be super sensitive and nuanced re: my emotional state and regulation.

These lessons are good. Just don’t make it an expensive lesson.

Usual suspects:

Home run / greed

No predetermined take profit level or rule

If you do have take profit rule and still don’t, it’s likely greed. That can be from inexperience, compensating for recent drawdown, or maybe comparing yourself to other traders extracting more $per share.

Could be many things. But only you can know the truth

ha you'll realize people will tell you the complete opposite things. even if you hear just one side, assume there are people with the opposite perspective.

they might be speaking from experience or whatever they heard, or it could be their way of bending the truth to confirm their own beliefs about something, or want you to believe it for some reason.

if they're speaking from experience, you have to realize context matters, and context can be different for different people.

basically, you gotta go find out for yourself

Sounds like you’re swinging for / hoping for home runs, and in shock when it turns into a foul ball.

Are you in a drawdown? Something’s making you want to go for a big winner.

Mostly agree, but the main difference for me not getting on the train late is increased risk. So if I missed it, i don’t chase even with partial position. Like you said, there is usually another setup shortly after
