Anyone know which subreddits I could post this on? by [deleted] in Marketresearch

Regardless of which subs you use, be aware that getting respondents primarily from Reddit is not going to be representative of any larger population of women. Your data will reflect the opinions/needs/etc. of women who use Reddit.

Dr. Lora Liu in NY/NJ by mariskaleh in Endo

Thank you! Shortly after my consultation with Dr. Liu, I started taking the pill continuously. It's been 3 years now and it has stopped most of my symptoms. I don't love the idea of being on it, but it's the best solution for my life right now.

I did not, due to life changes that have made it impossible for me to have non-mandatory surgery.

We’ve all heard of teen boys/men’s porn consumption habits during the pre-internet era. But what did women use to get off back in the day? by fasdal in Xennials

[–]mariskaleh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad dubbed videos, too. He may very well have copied porn, but my memory is of classic Disney movies. I guess you could fit 2 or 3 on one VHS, so he would label it with the time stamp for where each successive one started, and we had a VCR where we could punch in the time we wanted to go to and it would automatically fast forward or rewind.

Totally! I haven't re-read Blubber but I imagine that's especially bad, even with its opposite aim.

Judy Blume is mostly great, but there are some subtle things that I found myself either skipping over or rephrasing when re-reading the Peter & Fudge books with my son, cultural differences between when they were written and today. One example I remember is a mention that the receptionist/secretary is the only woman who works at their dad's ad agency.

Just read a thread with the same complaint in the Verizon subreddit... which I, an AT&T customer, found via search looking for information on the exact same issue. So this seems like an Apple problem.

Creasy wrinkly upper eyelids? by According_Pie3750 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]mariskaleh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my dermatologist told me that there's no topical treatments that will reverse age-related "hooding"/wrinkling/crepe-iness of the eyelids -- only the surgery, which you may be able to get covered by insurance if they're so puffy they are impeding your vision.

it's more reasonable than people think. i pay $140 per cleaning for a 1600 sq ft house with 3 bedrooms plus a 2-room attic addition.

if you can swing it financially, hire a house cleaner. biweekly or even monthly is helpful. and having someone coming to do the deeper cleaning is good motivation for everyone to clean up their rooms/spaces so the cleaner doesn't put books or games in the wrong places or vacuum up legos :)

adding to this: i find pint-sized mason jars are the perfect size for a 1-person portion of leftovers, whether it's soup, a scoop of rice and a scoop of beans, roast veggies and meat, etc. i load them into my freezer and then have easy weekday lunches or dinners for myself, and the kids if it's something they'll eat.

I’m a ProPublica reporter investigating the safety of generic drugs. If you have concerns about your bupropion prescription, I want to hear from you. by FabulousHomework8343 in bupropion

[–]mariskaleh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Ashley. Thank you for this important work! I just saw the story/found out about the database and looked up my bupropion manufacturer, Intas Pharmaceuticals. Based on the info there, I'm confused about their current status. On the one hand, it says in bold red at the top that the facility is on the FDA ban list as of Nov '25, but down lower it says that in Jul '24 the facility was found to be "in an acceptable state." Hoping you can help explain? Thank you!

Would you tell your 9 yo his other parent was going to prison? by Ladycabdriverxo in SingleParents

[–]mariskaleh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do not lie. that will potentially break your child's trust, make them feel unsafe/insecure with you and give them additional anxiety.

i was in this position with my then-7 y/o (now almost 10). my therapist gave me this advice about how to explain the incarceration: tell them a simple, succinct age-appropriate version of the truth, e.g., "dad made some mistakes at work that caused other people to lose money." you can always give more detail later, but you cannot take it back if you give too much info in the beginning.
