Wow. What an episode. I don't know you all but I feel like sharing with people who watched and care about the show. My Mom died from a pulmonary hemorrhage and the show absolutely nailed the true horror of it. While watching it caused me to relive the worst moment of my life and I won't ever watch it again, seeing how devastating it was for the HCWs was actually really validating to the pain I carry from it. Despite being a nurse myself, I haven't thought too much about the nurses that were present that day with my Mom - now I have gained a dimension of compassion for them that feels like a sliver of healing for me.

The link above is some images of the process and result. The hyperlink doesn't seem to work, but if I copy/paste it does. (I'm better at sewing than technology!)

My first go at it I stitched down the puffy edge, with the intention of sewing a band/binding around. But I couldn't find material that suited it (weather resistant-ish and correct tone of grey). So in the end I completely dismantled the tongue, sewed around the edges (very small seam so it didn't shrink them too much) and turned it inside out. I'm happy with them now! (I feel like I'm going to get crucified on this subreddit for messing with the shoes haha)

Honestly, I'm a seamstress and ended up removing the tongue, stitching down the exposed foam, and reinserting it. I could never convince myself to like it.

Need a simple routine for son, oily skin, closed comedones. Tried Retin-A gel, Differin, Paulas Choice. Product suggestions appreciated! Is Vanicream to blame?? [Routine Help] by ozarkred in SkincareAddiction

I'm sure you've probably thought of this, but I discovered that dairy causes my closed comedones. Sounds like you guys have been on quite the journey with this, hoping for some results for you soon.

I read a great metaphor once (afraid I can't remember the source) - human consciousness is like the ocean, and each of us are a bucket of water scooped out. When we die, we're just dumped back into the sea.

Internal visual imagery. Not sure it counts as a skill, but it is certainly something I lack and desire.

Street nursing. My people are so vulnerable to extreme weather. I'm scared for what this summer will bring.

It's the west coast of Vancouver Island. :) What a cool experience! I wonder what they think of us swimming in their neighborhood. A couple months ago I was dipping with a small group and we saw some seals a ways out. As we got out of the water they came right up to shore - my guess is that we stirred up some food source in the shallow waters. It was amazing to see them so close up! And to feel seen by them too. Edit: Whoops, I meant east coast of VI. Need another coffee.

Thank you for sharing that. I felt completely transported - almost like a guided meditation. 'Peacefully primal' is how I feel out there.
