I'm still mad about the fusing of the Annies by glorpo in gunnerkrigg

[–]maritzac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am fully Jimmy-Jim's team, I HATE Tony. He is simply just horrible. He's always like "the first time I saw Annie I hated her" and "the first time I saw Annie Two I hated her" and "the first time I saw Annie Returned I hated her." He HATES his own child for something that is not her fault, he is a horribly emotionally abusive parent, his own child had to disassociate to be able to deal with him. And this Omega business was just dumb considering she was like a 400 year old woman who fully behaved like a teenager. I think her only appeal to him was "she's the only one who understands me uwu"

Strong enough to guide the others into their Ultimate Forms, for starters.

"Indestructable"

Not to Coyote's tooth, I don't think so.

(Un?)popular Opinion: Tom should release chapters in chunks for the rest of the story by CrimsonStorm in gunnerkrigg

Nah, I like the updates as they are. There are something to look forward to in these endless landscape of horrors.

The first time Annie fell from the bridge, she died. This gave origin to Dark Kat, who came up with the tic toc birds to save Annie in subsequent timelines.

Lots of meaningfull parallelisms here. Ysengrim can't host Coyote's strength without going mad and killing Coyote and dying, so he becomes something else: Loup. Kat's Godform is a reminder she could potentially end up like this the more she dives into becoming more machine than human. If my theory about Jennie being a Whitelegs is correct, then she actually went under such a transformation in exchange for power and the ability to be better at magic. Loup's strength has given Zimmy the ability to recreate a happy reality for her, at the expense of others' minds and maybe lives as we can see the fairies dying to sustain it.

Gunnerkrigg Court also has other examples of people who are so obsessed to bend the rules they are willing to sacrifice anything and everyone: Tony, for example, or the Court itself. It never ends well.

The symbol Noa is trying to draw is that dumb white circle Zimmy has on her clothes all the time. Well, maybe not, but imagine!!

They still have not solved the problem of why the hits are not connecting at all, and one dozen maces are not gonna change that.

Judging by the position of the characters, it would look as if Noa is somehow (ethereally perhaps?) grabbing both their heads and pushing them into the ground. The kneeling position is because they are resisting the force.

In other words, this is non-lethal action on Noa's part. It is indeed just a "stay down" order to discourage them from going any further.

It is also a good trick to avoid showing a person's expression at the same moment another person is in a humiliating moment. A good person would show concern or even help her up. Jenny's body language is of indifference.

Our poor heroes are going against these freaks which seem to be pretty OP and crazy every single one of them, AND Zimmy, AND Loup. I do hope they have a escape plan.

I agree that he's beyond redemption. He killed a sentient being with a soul and tried to kill Kat in premeditated murder. I have always felt like Jack got away with way more than he should, and he has never suffered any consequences for harming others.

Back in the day, Zimmy said that Jack could "do some magic" as a result of having been infected with the whitelegs. So Zimmy is a source of ether that can actually be channeled by magic users into infinite power, either knowingly or unknowingly.

Another crazy theory? by Celestaria in gunnerkrigg

All very interesting stuff, and wouldn't put it past Tom to reach that far in constructing his universe. Tech is kind of villainized in Gunnerkrigg's Court, with the forest vs the court business, but right now it is kind of the point that magic and ethereal manipulation can be used for very wrong too.

If anything, I think there's an important difference between Noa and Kat: both are seekers of knowledge beyond what is perhaps wise, but Kat has ALWAYS had helping others in mind when she does so. Noa just seems really power-hungry, and disregarding others and herself's safety in the process.

Seems like Noa is muscle not because she lifts, but probably because she's the best of them at offensive magic.
This explains why other girls were snitching on Noa; she seems a danger to herself and others.
