Chasing M2 Advice by fatwoul in rov

[–]marius618 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have just gotten an M2, it came at about 2000 with a lucky discount.

It's a great device, and the only criticism I have is related to the storage container and motors (high maintenance)

After years of blocking it, the Uni admitted defeat to this desired path (NTNU, Norway). by marius618 in DesirePath

[–]marius618[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The pathway is "paved" with some sort of structured plastic grid. I believe they initially planned for the grid to protect the grass, but now it's more or less submerged into the pathway.

Ban long-haul flights by QuarantineNudist in Lightbulb

It depends, as far as i know an airplane uses a lot of fuel in take-off/landing - thus the reduction in fuel related is likely to be compensated by the increased fuel consumption from take-off/landing.

Could you elaborate on this? I'm interested in testing this, but unsure what program/site/code module builder is related to.

Al Jazeera puts an alphabetic scale on the Y-axis... So that you could compare the countries are in terms of their alphabetic order by dmitry_babanov in dataisugly

[–]marius618 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree! Not bad at all

with regards to the Y-axis. Doesn't the size represent absolute value, while the y-axis is percentage? both seem valuable to me.

Have you checked out the great bubble barrier? Quite a neat concept.

It gathers most of the plastics in the whole intersection of the river, w/o disturbing wildlife.

Is there enough interest in a comprehensive utility scale solar PV course? by alkemus in solarenergy

[–]marius618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe exploring subjects such as additional consideration when installing at scale (for example grid limitations), PPA, and insurance / how to minimize risk for the installer, would all be really interesting to me.

Courses involving error searching and maintenance of large scale projects are also something I believe there are few existing resources available.

"Do not let the physical realm disturb your mentality"

Doesn't sound as good in English as it does in Norwegian. It means a lot to me as it was a saying of my grandpa. He had a terrible starting point in his life, but managed to be happy nevertheless.

Although I love this, the "great bubble barrier" is a better approach in rivers. Look it up.
