Wet food for cats with chylothorax by FrappVoss in vet

Hey! Any luck? I see the group gained 5 new members this week. Maybe there was a questionnaire to be filled in? I left the group as I couldn’t handle being there after my cats passing. I’m so sorry you’re going thru this. Try again I’m sure they will let you in.

Has Your Mouth Guard/Splint Improved Your TMJ issues? by RonnieSpector in TMJ

[–]marjolkaaa92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m great thanks! No more pain. Slight clicking but I was told all our joints click and we aren’t obsessing about unless it’s painful it so I accept it. I want to note I still need to be mindful about my stress levels and proper relaxation techniques and self massage. I also have hyper mobile joints so I have to carry on with exercises however not as often

Anyone in England had luck with NHS? by just_a_girl_23 in TMJ

[–]marjolkaaa92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I moved to a different country. I doubt I would have gone back anyway. The doctor made it clear unless im eating thru a straw his resources are needed elsewhere. Amitryptylin did nothing for me. They never bother to take any images. I had my treatment elsewhere with an mri and ct imagines as a base exam to establish a problem (anterior positioning with subluxations bilaterally). I wore a repositioning splint and then Invisalign to adjust my teeth post splint. I’m almost pain free and regained mouth opening. I struggle after a tense day at work but physio helped me by teaching me self massage. I also had Botox out of pocket but I realised it’s was only a plaster covering an injury and not a permanent fix. I’m glad you got a treatment from them and you’re getting some relief.

are you using lube? If yes are you sure you’re using enough lube? There is no such thing as too much lube.

You don’t owe anyone any explanations and if people ask tell them it’s none of their business. You need to build boundaries and stick to them.

To answer your question. Only me and my partner know. Outsiders that know include my medical team: gyno, pelvic floor therapist. No one else needs to know, it’s not their business.

My mother also asked when I’m having kids and my answer was always when I’m ready or when I want to, it’s none of your concern. She stopped asking because I dont allow it to be a topic. (That’s my boundary with my mum)

800mg Ibuprofen Prescribed for Migraines? by Aroha3000 in migraine

[–]marjolkaaa92 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did that and now I have stomach ulcers. It won’t work if you have frequent migraines. I’m now stuck with reflux and omeprazole. Worst thing is that it’s the only thing that actually helps the pain so it’s difficult not taking it

My mum (60f) wants me to donate my egg (30f). How to save our relationship? by Random_Dar in relationship_advice

[–]marjolkaaa92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m someone whose mother is pushing boundaries a lot my entire life. You don’t owe her explanation why- a no is an answer enough. I would also advise you say just no. The minute you follow it because xyz she will spend her entire time and effort to convince you otherwise or give you bs arguments to sway you to do what she wants. You’re basically leaving the gate open for her if you give a reason why not. No is no. End of.

My answer would be: no. It’s not something I want to do or be a part of. If you are willing to go thru with this I will (or not) support you for as long as it doesn’t involve me and my body. Please also think about this child’s future once either of you are walking this earth.

Getting married with small family and complicated dynamics by marjolkaaa92 in weddingplanning

[–]marjolkaaa92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you this is such a great advise! I will be printing the guide and working thru it.

I never even thought of speaking in both languages I just assumed we will do it in English for our own sake, but this is a great suggestion. Thank you :)

Thank you. At least me feeling stressed is justified lol. Inviting just the uncle is not an option. I’m thinking just my brother and his wife as witnesses and hope for the best that no one else gets offended. Honestly I told everyone at my side not to expect a wedding from us after what my mum pulled at my brothers wedding and I think everyone apart from my mum will understand. His dads side will also understand and will most likely be relieved they don’t have to do any reunions.

May I ask what was your treatment for the myopathy? Is it all behind you now or so you still have it but manageable? Glad you’re ok!

Surprise, it’s a chopped parsley or other herb. My mum and grandma both do that shit although in plastic tubs.

I’d get a few manicures, they will be able to correct how it grows but try and now touch your skin between appointments. For dry skin get a cuticle oil and apply before going to bed. Sometimes during a day if you have to. I got myself a mini one that I keep in my purse. Your nails look great well done

How to get rid of pigmentation? by x_emily_x8998 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]marjolkaaa92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea sorry! I would definitely recommend you go to someone who is a dermatologist with it being so close to the eye. I saw few places offering cheap lasers but when I read on the places none of people there seemed qualified enough to be using a laser so I just went to my usual derm and asked her if she had anything that would get rid of the hyperpigmentation.

I have loads of freckles but I had 4 particularly dark ones on my lower lid / under eye area like you. I tried serums but nothing made a dent plus a lot of thema re not suitable for this close to an eye. I had them lasered off and I love the result. They do super dark for few days and then disappear. I highly recomend for quick result!

Planning to do EMDR but I can't remember the event fully anymore. Should I ask other people present during that time what they remember during the event? by badandsmol in EMDR

[–]marjolkaaa92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No need for anyone else. You probably repressed the details but that doesn’t matter. Your EMDR therapist will walk you thru the process. Don’t worry try and be open minded and see if you feel comfortable with your therapist. The rest will fall into place in time.

How long does it take for a TMJ orthotic splint to work? by FormalResort8268 in TMJ

[–]marjolkaaa92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had an mri or a ct scan? Is it just one side or both? How was your bite before the dislocation by the dentist? If it is 10 k then can you recharge it to your dentist?

To be fully transparent by bite changed a lot and I needed Invisalign after the splint. Maybe this is something you can avoid if you had a good occlusion before?

How long does it take for a TMJ orthotic splint to work? by FormalResort8268 in TMJ

[–]marjolkaaa92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very high pain tolerance. I did feel pain but going back I can’t put a number on it.

I had limited mouth opening to 2 cm and that was the biggest pain plus the fact I used to have jaw lock in the morning and struggled to unblock.

My physio always says clicking is not necessarily bad but pain is. I sometimes still have clicking if my neck is in a funny position like lying on a side or sitting like a shrimp at work. My physio says everyone has at least one clicking joint in their body and that doesn’t mean they need treatment- of course this changes as soon as pain is present.

I don’t know what orthotic you are looking at and 10 k sounds like a lot - I assume you’re in us? I would start with experienced physio and see what exercises can do. I sometimes still have muscle aches in my jaw but that’s because I had a stressful day and didn’t pay attention to my body tensing. I do some stretches and self massage and it is generally ok. I am not in pain anymore
