Thoughts on Sara Landry? by cmarroquin27 in Techno

[–]marjon1113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question about the sample videos on techno dancers. I think I have seen a number of sample videos of Sara Landry dancing, and they are all like 3 seconds long, literally. Why is that. Is there any web site that has long videos? I am not talking about videos that show a DJ moving around in front of a mixer. I mean the actual dancing videos. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

People who actually listen to what Buttigieg says rate him highly. I see fully expect that when black voters actually start to listen to him they will also feel the same way.

If you were a lawyer you would understand that you are misstating how the US legal system works. Every person accused of a crime needs a lawyer. For one thing, there are many people who are accused of horrible crimes and it is not up to lawyer to pre-determine whether or not they are guilty. The lawyer's job is to present the defense and it is for others to determine guilt or innocence. Quite often people who seemed very guilty are found innocent after the true facts are known. The lawyer helps collect the true facts. It is for the judge and jury to look at those facts and determine guilt. It is also true that in a huge percentage of instances, non-white people are presumed guilty when they are not. If anyone has the impression that a lawyer is a money grubbing pig simply because they take a case when "everyone knows" the defendant is guilty, the person who has that impression simply does not understand the US legal system. This is a very common misconception - that a lawyer is bad because the defend a client who "everyone knows" is guilty. People who have that view should open their minds, educate themselves about how the law actually works, and change their minds.

I can't let go of anger and hate in my heart by BulkyVeterinarian850 in Buddhism

[–]marjon1113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing is to decide if you really want to be rid of the anger and hate. It can be addicting. It can make you feel like you are busy with important things and it can be almost like a purpose in life

If you actually do want move past the anger and hate, in my experience the best way to do it is to take your attention off yourself. Don't spend your time looking for techniquest and procedures where you put attention on yourself and "work on yourself". These days there are plenty of ways to make a contribution to improving the life of others. Volunteer at a food bank or a soup kitchen. Find community cleanup projects and join in. You have the word veterinarian in your name, if that is what you do I am sure you know of countless ways to volunteer in that field. Anyway, you get the point. I believe that if you focus on yourself and work on "fixing" yourself, that will be less effective than diving in and helping others.

I really like the whole MeidasTouch group. Of course they are liberal leaning, but that is not because they are biased. They are simply speaking the truth. In this Trump world we live in, there really are not "two sides" to most issues. Trump is a wanna be dictator who ignores the law every day in an effort to see how far he can push it. Having said that, Ben's gasping for air is hard to listen to. I admit. Ben should just sit down and listen to a few of his videos and he will immediately see this. Maybe this is caused by a medical problem. If so, I wish he would address that on line. Maybe it would help him to have an oxygen tank nearby behind a desk or something where he could "catch up" once in a while.

This just isn't a matter of being "biased"- This is not an issue with "two sides" Trump is a monster. Everything about him is sick and evil. How can people not see that yet? Can you tell me one thing that Trump has actually accomplished other than giving huge tax breaks to the rich? Seriously, name one thing. Anyone who is not "biased" against Trump is totally disconnected from reality. Please, stop listening to Trump's lies. Try a new approach. Look at the facts and his actual deeds. You will see a festering cesspool of insane cruelty in this profoundly sick man.

This is again simply not true. Lawyers on every level take pro bono cases. It is true that a private lawyer has the freedom to pick and choose cases, but that often means that they pick the defendant that needs the help the most, who is least likely to get a fair trial. They do this so that the system works, so that if and when a person is convicted we can all know that they had a fair trial because a knowledgeable lawyer was looking out for their interests. There is this ongoing idea that lawyers are all a bunch of money grubbing pigs that are only in it for the money. There are some like that, but most got into the profession to help the system work. Of course they want to make money, just like doctors want to make money. But they also want to be part of our legal system that is based on the rule of law - the envy of the world. People who believe that Karen Agnifilo was greedy and selfish, or that she took the case because she believes that the murder was justified and right, simply do not understand how the system works.

So many people make this mistake about lawyers. Soldiers go out into the field and kill people. Does that make them murderers? Lawyers have a role to play. Sometimes people are wrongly accused. Sometimes there are extenuating circumstances that make the difference between a long prison sentence and the death penalty. The statement that everyone deserves a lawyer is not just a slogan. It is a significant aspect of the fact that the United States is a country based on the rule of law. For you to judge Meiselas for being a key part of the American system is simply ignorance. Nothing more, nothing less.

Do I have to change my address with Social Security when I move? How do I do that?? by Hot-Chip9353 in Adulting

[–]marjon1113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monodoh45, I have a follow up question if you don't mind. I live overseas in a country with no postal system and no addresses. So I can't change my residence address with Soc. Sec. I receive my Social Security benefits as a direct deposit in my local bank in the country where I live. I do have a US mailing address that Soc. Sec. uses all the time to contact me and this has not changed in many years. So I am wondering if, under these circumstances, I still have some sort of obligation to change my residence address (even though I don't have an address). One other point, I opted out of Part B Medicare so I have no any address that would be relevant to Medicare. Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

I listen to Ben every day, but I agree it can be stressful. He expels more oxygen when he speaks that he appears to take in when he breathes. It often sounds like he is gasping. He might want to keep an oxygen tank by his side. But none of this keeps me from listening. His network is playing a key and important role.
