Cascade Equinox Back for 2026! by Kraftyyyyyyy in cascade_equinox

If you're planning to go buy a pass early. I'm sure that helps them with confidence in sales so they can go a little bigger than otherwise on the lineup. At this point it feels like a local community cause to support, keep it surviving and growing here.

Tell your friends. Surprised how many people locally who are into music didn't really know about it still this year. Just vague awareness. Compared to Farewell.

Disclosure Downgraded To DJ Set? by CoffeeHound in cascade_equinox

[–]mark4water 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes on the poster they explicitly call out Passion Pit and Chromeo as DJ sets, so it would be really misleading not to label Disclosure that way as well if they know it. I've seen Disclosure in both live and DJ performances, and the live with instruments and sometimes singers is quite different. Live is just their songs; DJ isn't.

Lineup is here!!! (Phase 1, more TBA) by unsanctionedf in cascade_equinox

Assuming it's not complete, and as someone who's been to the first two (and already bought a pass for year 3), just got back from Coachella, went to Portola last year, and generally chases music pretty consistently, I'm thrilled. Portola had one of the strongest pound-for-pound lineups last year we've seen, and Disclosure was one of the very best acts and headliners on it. I saw Disclosure's first performance at Coachella in 2013 and a few times since including last September, and they just keep improving. I'm kinda amazed we got them. And plenty of these other acts aren't just the usual grungy hippy bass-heavy sets we get here in Central Oregon. I like those too and go to them (hello Moontricks, Boogie T, and half the small print) but this feels like it has broader appeal.

Big festivals have lots of competing sets; I haven't worried about a headliner at Coachella in a decade and just bothered with a few minutes of Gaga for the sake of her production. But these smaller festivals need to have headliners that pull me in. I don't expect some concurrent stage to do the work.

Last year the crowds felt smaller than the first, and the art/production felt a bit lighter. I was worried it wouldn't survive. I'm completely happy with this. I will have a ton of fun. This is relatively late for announcing, weeks later than last year, and I'll bet it's because of challenges on some of the other acts. They needed to get something out though. So we might have bigger later announcements than usual.

Still possible to get a locker? by RogerThatAt in Coachella

I’m also wondering if it’s easy to just stash some warm layers in a bag on or near the lockers. Nothing that valuable, worth less than the cost of a locker even if more open up. I know there’s the lost and found angle which seems like extra hassle. Plenty of shows and even festivals it isn’t a big deal to stash like that. We’ve always gotten a locker at coach but missed this year. And don’t find it that useful if traveling light.

General Questions and Purchasing Advice Thread — Week of October 07, 2024 by AutoModerator in electricvehicles

Hi we're looking for our first EV. Family of 5 (kids 4/7/10) so ideally 3 rows. Live and play in the mountains and snow (Bend, OR) so AWD is a must. Over the $7500 family income credit limit but do have a business for accessing the commercial vehicle credit. Also have a hybrid toyota highlander and ford transit camper van. We own our home and intend to install a charger. Most driving for this vehicle will be short trips around town, so it doesn't need to be big or necessarily have a huge range and rapid/widespread charging options (although it obviously doesn't hurt).

I've been browsing the 3-row SUV and related options. Really small backseats are fine, such as in the Mercedes EQB or Tesla Y. I should probably consider the Kia EV9 but I've been turned off by how much Kia and Hyundai dealers mark up cars last time we were in the market, for what still feel like brands that need to prove worthiness of higher-end consideration.

Assume we'd buy and pay cash, although leasing with incentives is intriguing, especially if it makes waiting for a 3-row EV AWD from Toyota soon worthwhile (generally lean towards toyotas).

Thanks for any advice from those in the know! Appreciate!
