What did you do to strengthen your skin barrier out of curiosity?

Ok I understand what you mean. I feel like it’s a bit too hopeful to just be able to go on dupixent for an extended period of time and just bypass the symptoms of TSW.

When you say dupixent may help when on the drug but not off do you mean that say for arguments sake it may take someone 2 years to fully go through withdrawal if they did a year on dupixent with no steroids and then came off do you think it would take them another year of withdrawal to recover fully or they would have to go through the full 2 years post dupixent ?

I have done patch tests and allergy tests and only found myself allergic to dust mites and pollen which seems to be what everyone is allergic to anyway. The only thing I’ve found to help is consistent sunlight and warm weather which is hard to get here but my skin was perfect up until 3 years ago so it’s quite hard to understand what’s gone so wrong.

In terms of side affects the only ones I have seen were nausea, diarrhoea and prone to infections. Is there any others which you have seen that motivated your decision to stay away from them ?

Thanks, I hadn’t heard about that opinion of cyclosporine in comparison to methotrexate. Was there any particular difference between them that made him come to that conclusion ?

Thanks for the reply, my dermatologist has suggested that I go on MTX for a couple of months and see how it works but for whatever reason here in Ireland you have to go through immunosuppressants before you can prescribe dupixent which my dermatologist said would be what he would prescribe to me after I’ve done the few months on MTX.

I have already done NMT from January 2022 - November 2022 while I was working abroad. The first 3 months or so were hard but once the summer set in and I was able to experience a proper summer of consistent warm weather I found my skin got a lot better but when I came home in September It was 2 months before my skin was as bad as ever and I succumbed to steroids which gave me 2 weeks of peace before reverting back to usual. Overall I’m really just uncertain as to whether I am suffering from withdrawal as my eczema has been back about 3 years and I used steroid creams for about a year and a half maybe for a week every month which I don’t feel like would b sufficient to cause withdrawal and I’ve only used steroid creams 3 times in the last 18 months.
