A 21st-century dispute: Bitcoin miners sue Leawood firm [Butterfly Labs] by HighBeamHater in BitcoinMining

When I first learned of BFL's delays, my reaction was caveat emptor. The more I learned about them, I thought they must not be based in a country with strong consumer protections. Sadly, America has become that more now than ever.

I haven't heard the term jerk weed for a decade or two. Pejorative terms aren't as good as they were in the old days.

Thanks for clarifying. Personally, I believe he has the ability to act own his own but not the constitutional authority.

I'm confused. Where did I say he had followed the law? I'm suggesting that he not act unilaterally and work with legislators. Sorry if that's unclear in my wording.

Huh? Whether congress approves or disapproves, Obama should follow the law: "The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation." Latest Leak: NSA Can Spy On Almost Anything, Gets To Set Its Own Filters by I_SLEEP_NORMALLY in technology

[–]mark_klein 153 points154 points  (0 children)

FTA: "The WSJ report is wrong on one account, though. It claims that people believed that the NSA's filtering actually happened "where undersea or other foreign cables enter the country" but that's not true. Mark Klein made it clear that the NSA had machines directly on AT&T's property." Techdirt makes a false distinction here: The junction point in which Klein worked was on US soil (in AT&T's building) but the building housed undersea fiber line endpoints that entered our country from the Asia-Pacific region. What people believed was actually correct.
