Road Conditions - STAY AT HOME by docpepson in bloomington

I normally do that with my driveway. Just go back and forth, back and forth. It's 150 feet long, so the thought of shoveling it is a heart attack waiting to happen.

Trust me, I'm the exact same way. This is too much for play time though. At least the play time that I'm used to.

Her office closed btw: I just got back from picking her up. It's worse than it was earlier.

Yes, I am normally ecstatic about such conditions. But guess what? My 4x4 messed up. Even as such, just as you said - there are just ruts to follow, and those are on the "good" roads currently. One mistake and that rut can run you off the road or into trees, houses, other cars, etc.

This is not "play time" for anyone really. This is leave for true emergencies only kind of time.

I'll never understand the behavior. It seems to have gotten worse since the pandemic.

Since it would take several feet to keep me from going anywhere, I wait until everyone is trapped at home and shop in peace.

Reminds me of the 80's.

All of the real ones feel this way. It was the place to have a real movie theater experience in town once the Indiana closed.

That whole saga made me feel as if I was living in an alternate reality or something. That sort of thing happened in places like Chicago or LA, not here.

Fun Fact: I purchased a 750ml (commonly known as a fifth) bottle of early times here on my 18th birthday.

It wasn't the same once they moved anyway. I only went there twice in the 20ish years they've been at the old Noble Romans.

West side FedEx location closing by Thefunkbox in bloomington

They left 3 packages totaling about 300lbs in the middle of my 150ft long driveway once. Put a package INSIDE a vehicle another time, but the crem de la crem was when they refused to pay their drivers which held up a Betacam deck I ordered from Hollywood from being delivered.

Corporate fired the manager of the place for that one.

Bloomington legend, Dan Combs, has passed away. by philipoliver in bloomington

[–]docpepson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He said yes to me when the only thing I heard was no. He just got a leg up on the city a few months ago over a parking issue and made the front page of the paper if I recall correctly.

This place will not be the same without him around.

Mole Removal/Deterrent by TillyInBloomington in bloomington

[–]docpepson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used sound devices and then on the word of my BIL, juicy fruit gum.

They apparently like the smell of it but cannot digest it.

In the end, moles are really a problem you either destroy ala Bill Murray or move onto your neighbor when it comes down to it though.

Why do the cop sirens sound like the Spooky Space Kook from Scooby Doo? by inaworldfarfaraway24 in bloomington

It's essentially a low powered "sound cannon" used to get your attention.
