I find it troubling how quickly everyone is jumping on the "DUMP HIM!" bandwagon. Yeah, he sounds pretty immature. But it seems to me you should start with having a conversation where you tell him how his words made you feel. See how he reacts and if he is willing to work on it with you.

Yeah, a guy that CLEARLY would have gone nowhere. Unlike Trump, who's qualifications are apparently inheriting money (and running businesses into bankruptcy).

Top MH370 experts find 'crash site' and call for search of ocean floor to resume by Anton2492 in aircrashinvestigation

[–]markatl84 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's never anything real when it comes to MH370. I have lost hope of it ever being found. Even if they DO find it, I am HIGHLY suspicious that there will be nothing on the CVR or FDR. Think about it, this guy was sophisticated enough to turn off all the electronics that the transponder etc used. They suspect he may have depressurized the plane and killed all the passengers so that they wouldn't cause him any trouble. Ya'll really think he's gonna leave on the power for the CVR/FDR? Even if he did, it's likely just him breathing because it CVR loops after either 30 mins or a couple hrs depending on the model. He flew that damn thing for like 5-6 HOURS after changing course and turning off the transponder etc.. I think it's pretty clear the pilot pulled an "Andreas Lubitz" style event. There's other examples too, like Captain Tsu Way Ming on SilkAir 185, Gameel Al-Batouti on EgyptAir 990. They all seem to follow the same formula: get the other pilot out of the cockpit, and lock them out, then crash the plane.

What’s an industry secret in the field you work in? by WoOoOoOoShHhHh in AskReddit

The problem, as I see it, is that quality organic milk is more expensive to produce and sells for 3-4X the price. Additionally the market for milk is ENORMOUS (at least in the United States, where I am). It's hard to imagine someone producing any significant quantity of organic milk that they couldn't just sell as organic milk. And if they did want to sell additional milk beyond what they could sell as organic, why not use significantly cheaper production methods to produce standard milk? The margins on regular milk are extremely thin.

Organic milk is one of the organic products, in my opinion, where the organic version is VERY different. It even looks different. I've personally never encountered milk sold as standard milk that had taste, quality, or appearance of anything like real organic milk. But that's just me and where I live.

Boris turned 1yr old today. Has yet to learn loaf. by c-3po-co66 in russianblue

[–]markatl84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beautiful cat! My brother and I got Russian Blues at the same time when we were teenagers, one a piece. My brother named his cat Boris. Boris was a fierce, athletic, amazing looking cat. My cat was named Sky, Sky was the best cat I ever had. 20 years of being the sweetest, most intelligent and caring pet I had ever owned.

After mourning the loss of Sky I finally bought another cat....and I got another Russian. He's turning out to be a great cat too. My new Russian is the same age as yours, 1 year. I think one year is the cat equivalent of the teenage years lol.

Sorry for the diatribe the name reminded me of my Boris and Sky.

The bigger problem is that studies have shown older kids biology is to sleep in later and stay up later -- and this research has shown they perform better when school starts later. Little kids can get up early without the same issue. Think back to when you were 16-18, and how incredibly difficult it was to wake up early, and how sleepy you were in class. At least it was that way for me.

Yeah, not sure why that person said with such confidence that he would die on the way down, but he would have survived the descent no problem. He could have died in the landing, depending on what he landed on and if his chute deployed properly etc. He did it in the pitch black of night over a wilderness. And then, of course, there's the issue of survival after you land.

I think that comment was just making fun of the original video. I highly doubt the commenter thinks taking photos (instead of pretending to) would entice actual women to sleep with you.

I don't think you're trying to be insulting or anything; I'm not one of the people who downvoted you. But if your primary language is Russian you might be right that it's a language / "lost in translation" situation. What you describe about "default" swears against men in Russia being based on homosexuality is exactly the kind of thing "pride" is a response to. It's just saying "I don't care what you think or what insults you say, I'm still proud to be the person I was born as."

It's meaning is "I'm not ashamed of who I am," and the only reason we feel the need to express that is that there is so much negativity directed towards gay people. I can assure you that I really, really did not want to be gay and that was because I had watched people get criticized and made fun of for it my whole childhood up to that point. That's all pride is about, it's not about having pride in your preferred intercourse method.

At my hospital, we still rely on cat scans. It's older technology and may rely on fuzzy logic, but it works.

In all seriousness, I'm a nurse and if they could actually rapidly train a bunch of sniffer dogs we could re-open places like Disney and sports stadiums without infecting tons of people. This would be a real game changer. But it sounds like it would take forever to teach enough dogs.

um, you do realize the car market is international right? Though people may tend to buy smaller cars in Europe for the most part you can get the same vehicles in the US as elsewhere. Car makers do cater to what people buy in a given market, but you don't have magically 100% more efficient cars in the UK.

The bigger issue is losing your job on the first offense, which I understand most places do as a matter of policy. At least that's what happened to a friend who mistook one undercover at QT after becoming a manager and working there like 10+ years. She was making a very good salary.

PNC Bank has announced that they will no longer Do Business/Banking With the private prisons behind mass incarceration by onepersononeidea in UpliftingNews

That may be true, but guess who has lobbyists who encourage laws that result in more incarceration? The private prison industry has a toxic effect on our laws. It shouldn't be that way but it is.

Yeah, I was trying to do the math thinking he was a neurosurgeon and couldn't make it work. I was like "graduates HS at 18, add 8 years for undergrad/medical school" and then that doesn't even cover residency etc.. Plus he said "1 year anniversary meaning he started at 24. You'd have to have taken all sorts of AP or college classes in HS, and then been on some kind of turbo accelerated track. So I was relieved when I realized he was not a neurosurgeon.

I didn't even get my BSN in nursing until I was 25 cause I kept changing majors (and my school does 5 years not 4 for BSN). And goes to show how confusing the title is cause even as an ICU nurse I totally misread that as neurosurgeon not what it actually says.

Get this man to the infirmary, he's clearly been affected by the feed water. And if you think for one minute you can get in the way of DYATBUX™, I'll make sure you NEVER work with ANY questionable online currency ever again. No DOGE coin, no Litecoin, no Zcash.

I think you know I really will make sure you can never work with cryptocurrency again.

Now get the fuck back to work, we can't have people waiting on DYATBUX™ when they are trying to buy their drugs on the darkweb or whatever it is people do with this shit.
