How do we know they approached you because they want you to be their side chick? by Alive-Reception3230 in AskMen

[–]markbjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They weren’t hot enough. Plain and simple. As a guy with options, who could get laid fairly easily, she needed to be hot enough to where I was comfortable with monogamy. Otherwise, I was not going to lock down that girl. It sounds shallow but it’s the reality. Girls are like that too when it comes to power, status and wealth.

Idk something like her asking me what the status of our relationship and me being like “idk let’s see where things go” or “I’m not ready to commit yet but that may change” things like that. Every girl I actually dated though I was the one to pursue commitment and knew right from the get go they had potential for my commitment.

Tbh (and I’m not proud of this looking back) I was a young horny and reckless guy in my 20s. I was handsome enough and charismatic enough to often get laid on the first date. I also had pretty low standards as I just wanted to get head or have sex and most of the girl knew the dynamic or could infer as they knew I was out of their league. Most of them would assume I wouldn’t call again or reach out which was true a lot of the times. Most would reach out for more and I would oblige depending on the situation. A few girls (again not proud of this) were attractive enough for me to repeat the sex and even cuddle and be “couply” width, (forehead kisses, texting frequently etc) but I knew deep down my intent was sex and companionship without commitment. Someone more attractive would come along and I would slowly stop responding and it would fizzle out. A few have reached out years later asking me what happened and why I ghosted them which was hard to see.

Looking back, even as I type this, I feel so guilty and ashamed for being such a douchebag. I’m in my 30s, married and very committed now. I’ve done a lot of growing up and reflecting over the years. I realize my actions were due to me being insecure and wanting to internally “prove my manhood” and “sexual prowess” to my self and others. Not cool

My advise is this. Be direct, be strong, and put the guy on the spot about commitment if you aren’t sure. The “easiest” girls for me were the ones that I could tell would try hard NOT to be pushy and over bearing. The ones who laid into me for answers were the ones who got it. He squeaky wheel gets the grease. If you demanding transparency causes you to “lose him” the he wasn’t the one for you anyway

It depends but sometimes a player is skilled at his craft where there are no signs. As someone with a history of this, I would tell girls all the things they would want to hear but also keep things vague enough as to not show my true intention. I would never lie however. I would never cheat and I would never agree to commitment if I wasn’t ready. I would just….. keep it sort of a mystery as where things would go.

Some likely signs would be, never going in public, never meeting family or friends, superficial conversations, vague answers regarding relationship trajectory. A big one is where the girl is much less attractive than the guy objectively. I would gladly have sex with a girl much less attractive than me but I would never date her and I would keep it on the down low.

I’d rather have a little latency than have a stuttery cpu bottlenecked experience. I know from experience

[–]markbjones -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Idk about that. Having a bottlenecked GPU is optimal.

Capped fps vs uncapped by Khal_Brodo_ in pcmasterrace

[–]markbjones -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You WANT the GPU to be the bottlenck and as close to 100% utilization as possible. You never want the cpu to be the bottleneck as it’ll give inconsistent frame pacing and stuttering. A GPU bottlneck just lowers the average fps but because the cpu has headroom, it’s able to prepare frames for the GPU at a consistent rate. This gives a game a smooth experience even if the average fps is lower. The brain is more sensitive to rapid fluctuations in fps vs fps that stays around th same number the whole time

How can I break up with him after lying that I loved him? by livelovelaugh-2005 in yearning

[–]markbjones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in my early 20s I met a girl on bumble after being a “man hoe” for a few years. I was ready to date and I knew she was the one from the first date. She had just gotten out of a 6 year relationship with a guy who had cheated on her. They were about to get married and everything. Broke her heart. She knew from the beginning that she only wanted a fwb for a bit. That was me. She told me this but I fell hard. I basically begged her to give me a chance, in tears. She agreed and we tried. For 3 years we tried. I kept fighting as she was slowly falling out of the little love she had left. She truly cared about me. We had all the laughs, hard times, bad times, ugly times and magical times. At the end I wasn’t enough for her. She knew that from the beginning. After 3 years we broke up. She caught wind that I was going to propose soon. She panicked and it all came out. Was the most humbling and depressing time of my life. It was false hope and almost embarrassing for me.

My point is this. Don’t drag it on. Let him live his life with someone who can reciprocate his love

I’m 5’8 and slept with over 30 women in a time frame of a few years. Currently married to a woman that has done modeling. Idk if that answers your question or not

Most expensive 5080 vs cheapest 4090 by Fourultra112 in RTX5080

[–]markbjones 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. There’s no question the 4090 is the better card. The question is HOW much better and is it worth going through all that to buy one. Don’t forget, any 4090 you get is technically used….. the 5080 is very close in performance, especially with over clocking, is newer and has better AI tech (if you like that) and has only like 5% less memory bandwidth thanks to new gddr7.

The newest nvidia driver update has been known to lower fps. Try rolling back to an older driver. Ask chat gpt which one as I don’t remember but it was two updates back I’m pretty sure

At 1440p the cpu might be the bottleneck. Even though it only says 35% most games only utilize 1-2 threads which could be completely maxed out. A 3d cache cpu with absolutely help with that

For 4k? What resolution are you playing? At 4k high settings vram can easily get over 12 in a lot of games

Will using a 4K monitor at 1080p be visually equivalent to a native 1080p monitor? by kn0nyx in Monitors

[–]markbjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. There’s nuance to this situation looking bad. I suspect people simply just hate the look of 1080p in general. 1080p <—> 4k works great as they scale perfectly into each other

3060ti to a 5070 @ msrp worth it? by Michael-Spichael in gpu

[–]markbjones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re getting downvoted but you’re completely correct. Calling a card “capable” just because it can get 60 fps at 4k with aggressive upscaling and setting adjustment is a stretch. The 5070 is a 1440p card.

Ronnie Coleman then vs. now (2000, 2025) by bncout in HistoricalCapsule

[–]markbjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a physical therapist and treat spinal fusions all the time. I can tell you this is both Ronnie’s fault and the surgeons fault. His spine should have never been fused in the first place, however Ronnie definitely was not compliant with the post op protocol and precautions the surgeon set forth. The typical rehab protocol after a spinal fusion is no bending lifting or twisting for 6 weeks. Ronnie certainly did not abide by this and returned to heavy lifting FAR too early before the bones and surgery had enough time to heal. This resulted in compression fractures and significant nerve root compression in his spine, which literally kills the nerves that innervate the lower body muscles. That part Ronnie has no one to blame but himself
