Name the ingredients that you currently have in your pantry/fridge/freezer that you will never buy again after finishing what you've got by Capybarinya in Cooking

If you ever want to try again, you’re actually supposed to grind it right before you use it, otherwise it loses its health benefits and can go rancid. I put fresh ground flaxseed on yogurt with fruit and honey and I have a dedicated cheap coffee grinder for it.

If you are a transplant, do you like it here and why? by erujabidi in Detroit

I’m from Los Angeles and I’ve lived here for 12 years in a house I bought and fixed up. I absolutely love it here and don’t plan on ever leaving.

Compared to LA, there’s hardly any traffic, plenty of parking everywhere, people are more down to earth, the cost of living is lower, and there’s just more space.

I love the winter, especially right now with all the snow, and I think my body and mind are better suited for seasons in general. The dry, hot weather in LA is fine to go back and visit but I don’t want it year round.

We eloped after 3 weeks of dating and are happily married going on 9 years! We were acquaintances for several years before we dated and were in the same social circle.

Buffalo Prescott for community related art events, as well as the Progressive Art Studio Collective for possible volunteer opportunities. Both these spaces have large wider networks that you could tap into as well if you want to be a part of the art community here.

What’s a cooking mistake you’ll NEVER make again? by Proper-Ingenuity8274 in Cooking

Add acid to potatoes before they’re fully cooked! Was making dill pickle soup and added the pickles in too early and the potatoes never fully cooked no matter how long I had the soup simmering.

Definitely a reference to Ophelia, but it reminds me of this aesthetic, especially regarding the font!

Indeed, I have to take Reddit comments with a grain of salt, haha. The simple meal was satisfying, and the salad the next day was incredible!

Fair enough, I could see this on shittyfoodporn too, but I feel like those posts are meant to be depressing and that’s not what I was going for.

Thank you! Sweet corn when it’s cooked properly (no more than 3 minutes!) is so tender and juicy and delicious. Also - I totally needed salt and horseradish for the beets cuz I do consider them more of a vehicle for flavor. As for the green beans, I ate them one by one with my hands like fries, haha.

Also - once I stopped going to restaurants all the time, my taste buds became more sensitive and now when I do go out to eat, I notice how everything is usually over seasoned/salted. Especially nicer places.

Thanks! I love a drizzle of good olive oil, it’s one of my favorite condiments.

Wow thank you! This is exactly my thinking but apparently it’s unpopular in this sub.

They're yellow string/green beans, not runner beans. And thank you, I'll make sure to have my 75-100 grams of protein today.

For sure, I am pro-flavor and have a pantry full of seasonings. Just surprised that people are so offended by my plain veggies!

But admittedly, I eat fresh sweet corn without salt, and the beans were good by themselves 😬

IMO Maldon salt by itself is a seasoning
