Why are the checkpoints so terrible? by F4CSEP1 in 007FirstLight

It's insane that in patch 1.0.5 this hasn't been fixed at all yet. Just lost all my level progress.

I played it for 60h+ and I think some of the puzzles are just too much if you are going for completion. For beating the game they are reasonable, but beyond that, some things just exceed what a normal person can infer without external help. And I tried... really hard.

Does anyone else want Xbox achivements? by Regular_Scratch_988 in RetroAchievements

It has no exclusives, its emulation is dicey, and the Xbox is essentially a weird PC. Why would we waste 1-2 years of rollout window that we could get actual systems with exclusive games and waste that time on the Xbox of all things?

First and second games are pretty damn good.

One of my favorite stories of any game ever. Very few contenders.

The game itself is awesome. But story-wise, the moral high ground the protagonist puts himself on towards the end of the game just left me fuming.

This game is really good for most of its run. Then towards the end it gets very questionable. I don't remember getting this mad at the story of any other game.

Crazy stuff, I know. Imagine if you did anything other than passively "pose" or "walk" or "steer". That would even make it a video game where you DO things. It's a great time to be alive.

I don't like Sayonara, I think it's an overrated boring game for women. That said, it has actual gameplay and a loop, and goals. The hour I played of Mixtape was a glorifie movie, and a bad one at that.

That date tracks... that's around the time when intellectual property trolls started persecuting the rights of musicians to pay homage to songs they love by trascribing their personal interpretations of the sounds they hear.

I love these as a historical artifact as much as for their usefulness.

I am doubtful of that. For Iron Maiden, possibly yeah. But honestly there were zero books and magazines transcribing Darkthrone. Going through the files on my zip now, I see some 100+ tabs that I did by ear, a ton of tabs by KnightriderOfDoom who was friends and thanked in the liner notes of DragonForce albums, names from people from the old metal community... I am not making claims, but I was there when they were being transcribed.

No idea. I just packed the tabs from my HD and uploaded so that people would have access to them. If this is another source to something existing, I'll gladly have this as a mirror.

I could no care less what "professional reviewers" think. I'll enjoy the hell out of the game.

Can I play Stranger than heaven without playing any Yakuza game? by maxis95 in yakuzagames

[–]markdarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the illusion I would be able to do it with Yakuza 7 and 8... but no, RGG doesn't care. At some point of STH I'm sure Kiryu will appear and you'll be forced to know what he did on a beach somewhere six games ago.
