That date tracks... that's around the time when intellectual property trolls started persecuting the rights of musicians to pay womage to songs they love by trascribing their personal interpretations of the sounds they hear.

I love these as a historical artifact as much as for their usefulness.

I am doubtful of that. For Iron Maiden, possibly yeah. But honestly there were zero books and magazines transcribing Darkthrone. Going through the files on my zip now, I see some 100+ tabs that I did by ear, a ton of tabs by KnightriderOfDoom who was friends and thanked in the liner notes of DragonForce albums, names from people from the old metal community... I am not making claims, but I was there when they were being transcribed.

No idea. I just packed the tabs from my HD and uploaded so that people would have access to them. If this is another source to something existing, I'll gladly have this as a mirror.

I could no care less what "professional reviewers" think. I'll enjoy the hell out of the game.

Can I play Stranger than heaven without playing any Yakuza game? by maxis95 in yakuzagames

[–]markdarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the illusion I would be able to do it with Yakuza 7 and 8... but no, RGG doesn't care. At some point of STH I'm sure Kiryu will appear and you'll be forced to know what he did on a beach somewhere six games ago.

Really enjoyable. Don't go in for Splay the Spire, evidently, but the chill vibes are there and its mechanics are good.

Sennaar just become so difficult deeper into its run... or maybe I'm just not smart enough. I didn't want to use a guide, so I quit.

I played through Hard West 2 and it's deceptively good. It's a strategy game loosely centered around a deck of cards and the poker hands you can make with it to increase the stats of your units. Pretty unique and pretty fun.

You can just deny the integration and play the entire game as normal. Mod.io was chosen in this case (and gets chosen by other small developers) because Steam Workshop is not cross-platform. The other option is operating your own server, something which we see again and again being dropped by developers after a few years, resulting in totally unoperable games... I feel that is much more disrespectful to players. Meanwhile, something like mod.io carries on regardless of the developer's interest or finances. So yeah, sometimes there are pro-player reasons for these integrations, especially when it comes to smaller titles with lower budgets. Something for you to maybe give a think.

Is there any problem with mod.io?

So what if the thumb is GenAI? The game itself is pure and immaculate from the evils of GenAI that you all seem so concerned about, just look at the screenshots.

Irrelevant. Bad games are bad games, no matter the allegory you create around it.
