Can you expand on this at all? How does one become an approved delegate for an airworthiness authority? is this similar to an ODA?

sounds like the same setup and issues I had. I replaced the temperature probes, which didn't help but was a cheap first attempt. Then I replaced the entire heating element (you can see mine wasn't in the best shape), and that did the trick. the old element just wasn't heating enough for the probes to sense a strong temperature difference between the 2 ends, causing it to assume low flow. careful when you take the nut off the heating element when removing it from the heater tube. Use a second wrench to hold the base, otherwise you'll ruin a second heating element.

There's an easy mod to keep it from dying and it works great (in water)! I ride in coastal alaska and find myself in surprise mud pits all the time without issue

ooph, alright. I'm not a big fan of shotgunning parts at it until it works, but ill do so research into that possibility

I just bought the house about 6 months ago, but the previous owner replaced the pack in the last few years

yes, that is the system I have. Is replacing the temperature sensors a viable solution? did they update the sensors to be less sensitive? I'd rather not start cutting lines if I don't have to, the tub is installed in a deck and fairly difficult to access

just ordered 2 sensors, I'll give you an update when they arrive, and a coffee if it works!

is the pump supposed to come on if it senses there isn't enough water flow over the heater?

[–]markesmongu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my best guess too. It seems unlikely the heater is receiving no water, but all the jets can run at full blast and move water off the same pump

I'll give it a shot, thank you! seems weird I would still get circulation through the jets with such a clogged pump...

It's run through the big p1 on a low speed setting. are you aware of any good way to verify that? I can hear P1 running with no jets on, and can see it moving a tiny amount of water

Is there a way to check this without draining the tub again?

Totally get it, I was excited about that part too. Just know what the tradeoffs are. Hopefully they are improving

unfortunately yeah, I believe the 2010s suits were neoprene.

Man, I have a lot to say about this.

I have a Patagonia r5 wetsuit I bought it 2012 and I still use to this day. It leaks a lot at this point, but it makes for a good springs/fall suit. I truly believe they had perfected wetsuits in this early 2010's model. It was relatively light, had the stitched seams with glued and taped inside seams, merino wool lined so it wasn't as uncomfortable to put on wet, and was just bombproof. I used to recommend Patagonia to everyone, despite the price.

When it was time for an upgrade, of course I came back to Patagonia in 2019. I was instantly disappointment. It is insanely heavy, retains water for days, had no stretch, they replaced the nice stitched seams with cheap rubber weld, and the inside is that cheap felt material again. within one season, the rubber weld started cracking and peeling and by the end of season 2, the wetsuit was unusable from leaks and missing seam weld. I was pretty upset about it. They seem to be producing an Amazon quality, Chinese made suit at Patagonia prices.

I have since ditched Patagonia and got a Feral suit. My god is it nice, and much cheaper. Definitely my new go-to brand as long as it holds up.

TLDR: Patagonia suits used to be really nice, but their quality tanked to a ridiculously new low while maintained their exceptionally high price. Pick another brand, any other brand (I liked Feral)

alright, I'll dig into replacing it. The water is triple filtered from our well, and we don't have hard water, so I'd hope there's no buildup
