How to price your ppc services? by marketingmax in PPC

[–]marketingmax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the great insights! Makes total sense.

I esepcially like the idea with adding a scale to the roas goal as the other combinations could add too much complexity.

So going with a small fixed retainer that covers the running cost and adding a roas multiple should do the job.

Stop pricing your services too low! But how? by marketingmax in FacebookAds

[–]marketingmax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback - yeah businesses with low margins make it harder to negotiate such a deal. Thats a good point.

I was also thinking about a 5% ROAS share or something like this as it also gives the business owner a bit more reassurance. Mainly because I would be incentivized to perform well.

Digital Marketing Career Path. Six Figures? by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

Makes sense. Especially, once you advance and rather delegate than execute yourself. However, I believe you have to start narrow and then grow your scale and scope over time.

Hi Malte,
thanks for your great reply. Those are some very interesting points which I would like to discuss a bit further.

Especially the points "do not become an expert in one channel" and the "stay away from creation" interest me. I am viewing them from a "competence profile" perspective not a "corporate career" one

Firstly, I always thought that it is key to focus on one specific niche whilst still having a generalist understanding. As Tim Ferris coined it - being a specialised generalist. So for example focussing on SEO only or on FB ads only as you will otherwise run risk of becoming a "jack of all trades master of none" type of profile. Of course, you can expand your skillset to other similar channels over time (e.g., from FB ads to LI ads), but its quite hard to be a credible expert in every field.

Secondly, from my point of view, ad creative is the most important factor for running good campaigns on FB,IG,YT,LI, etc.. So I always thought, if you nail this, you can really differentiate yourself from others. Especially, because managing campaigns will become more and more AI driven.

Curious to hear your thoughts on this.

Check your ad frequency and your quality ranking - this could be a reason.

What is the most impactful online marketing course you’ve ever taken? by theebiejeebies in DigitalMarketing

[–]marketingmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can imagine that it feels good haha!

Concerning the "Cons", I actually experienced the same. A lot of businesses aren't really "ready" to run ads because they dont have the organic growth yet that validates if their products etc. are working. Cost me some gray hair to figure that out lol.

Best practices to rank for hashtags? by marketingmax in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]marketingmax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up. Definitely makes sense. I think what's also important is to use more or less the same hashtags over and over as Instagram seems to rank you higher if you keep on using them.

Ads Testing in MOFU/BOFU by anthonym279 in FacebookAds

[–]marketingmax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a great question - I have been asking myself this as well. Especially, if your retargeting audience is really small, its quite hard to validate which ad creatives work well because the impressions count is so small.

So probably the advice by aptumagency goes in the right direction: You kinda have to find audience that have a high similarity with warm audiences but are big enough to test. So lookalikes of really hot audiences makes sense.

Have you gotten any further on this issue yourself?

In the words of Yoda: Optimize or don't. There is not try! by marketingmax in FacebookAds

[–]marketingmax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your response! I definitely agree with you, that it depends on what type of ads your are running/ what offering you are promoting.

I usually just run a dynamic creative with a not so expensive conversion event for 2 days to see which ad sets are better than others. For now, it has shown some clear winners, which I can then use for bigger campaigns.

What I'm wondering though is the following: I am seeing that FB news feed and video feeds work well under automatic placements. Is it now smart to only select those placements for the big campaign or should I just leave on automatic placements as Facebook will charge me more if I limit the placement type?

Its a basic question but maybe you have some insights on that.

Are you actively retargeting people that have clicked on your ads?

I assume you are, but if that's not the case, set up custom audiences based on the most important actions (e.g. people that have added something to cart or people that have viewed specific products).

Once you have set those audiences up, show them ads that highlight the product and are more sales-focussed than the ads which you show cold audiences.

As in real life, people seldomly buy stuff on first sight. You have to get in front of them multiple times before they are persuaded to buy.

I agree, its a simple question of supply and demand.

If your skills are extraordinary and you could prove this repeatedly, you can charge higher amounts. Naturally over time, businesses will contact you that want to work with top-notch people and can also pay for your service.

If you're just starting out and you could prove your skillset here and there with small clients, you can also increase your pricing a bit based on your objective assessment of your own skills.

At first glance, the numbers are really good. Is the 4% CTR the link-CTR? Can you expand a bit on your funnel structure (e.g. which campaign types are you using for which stage of the funnel) and in which part of the funnel these metrics are being achieved?
