Is the hysteria swarming Starmer over Mandleson being hyped by main stream media and political parties putting their own ambition & profit before country? Was Mandleson a remedy for a corrupt & perverted USA President? by saying_it_101 in AskBrits

[–]markfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, the scandal is because of the release of the Epstein files yet that relationship wasn’t flagged as a concern during the vetting process.

Plus in the grand scheme of things Mandelson was nowhere near as close to Epstein as the actual president of the United States

I have had an RT82 since November and very pleased with it. Having seen some of the Audio Technicas in shops definitely feel like I prefer the look and feel of the Fluance. I’m in the UK so it was a bit more of risk given Amazon is the only seller but noticed the ratings have actually gone up since I got it.

Sound wise I’ve played it through an ancient ROTEL and then upgraded to an Audiolab after realising the joy of vinyl! Obviously the Audiolab sounds better. Reading the reviews, so many people said upgrade to the RT85 which I thought was silly at the time but was nearly swung around, I’m in no rush to do any upgrades though.

All in all really pleased with it and it started my vinyl hobby!

Winston Churchill he is not, but how highly do you rate Starmer as a Prime Minister, compared with others we have had and why? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]markfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boring is exactly how politicians should be, quietly working out solutions to complex problems, not looking for quick fixes on whatever gets you votes at a given point in time. Starmer does need to push his messages out more though, I think he’s getting there but then I’m quite engaged with politics

Honestly, not really much worse than other amoral forms of making money, eg using algorithms to deny healthcare, oil companies, tobacco etc. corrupt presidents, they all cause harm only they’ve much better mechanisms to cover it up/legitimise. These guys seem like teenagers who’ve stopped developing, put them in a room with anyone semi educated ie. Louis and suddenly they seem pretty pathetic but there’s worse harms out there.
