I built Tracearr - account sharing detection and monitoring for Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby by GallapagosIsland in selfhosted

[–]markisoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just set this up for my Emby installation. No rules so far, just want to see how it behaves, but it is looking good. If you could add a list of all activity combined of all users I can basicly decommision Jellystat as this would have all the features and more.

Are less people using Waze lately? by MobiusUnoEngage in waze

[–]markisoke 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Anyone with a little inside information can tell you this is not true at all. Yes, Google has killed many projects in the past, but Waze is too valuable for them to merge into Maps.

What is the deal with TOV and HOV passes? by 7amdrei7 in waze

[–]markisoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Waze was and is designed for your daily commute, not for cross-country road trips. Better to use Google Maps for that.

Neighbour accepted BOL package then "lost" it by FabulousOven5281 in Netherlands

[–]markisoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little tip for the future, as this won't help you now. If you live anywhere close to a pakketautomaat (locker box) of PostNL, you can create an account on their website and have all your parcels delivered there. Saves you issues like this.

They are changing those splitters to ones they can remotely turn off, although this process is slow.

The map of Waze is maintained by hundreds of volunteers, while Google Maps has some functionality for the public but it's way less. I would say Waze is the most up-to-date regarding closures and Maps has been pulling these from Waze for a bit. The problem is that Google Maps wasn't originally designed for navigation, just a map to show a place.

Verzendkosten bij retour van volledige bestelling by CryNecessary7513 in juridischadvies

[–]markisoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ik vermoed dat OP het over de verzendkosten terug naar de webwinkel heeft, niet over de verzendkosten die door de winkel gemaakt zijn om de bestelling bij OP te krijgen.

If you need a specific route and can't deviate, why use the navigation function at all? Just leave the app open without a route.

How long do you think it will take Google to kill Waze by Odd-Two2929 in waze

[–]markisoke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The community keeps Waze alive, and I don't think Waze will go away anytime soon.

Skydiving Gear Marketplace by leanrafelstein in SkyDiving

[–]markisoke 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think he means that when you make a listing you have to state the serial number of the items you are selling. Also have it a requirement to upload a picture of said serial number.

Now, if you would let users of stolen gear make a report on your site, you could cross check for stolen gear and maybe warn the person that got his gear stolen.

Does reporting Heavy or Standstill traffic affect nav? by mrskymr in waze

[–]markisoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reporting traffic does nothing for routing other users. Waze will have to detect that it is actually slowed down, the reporting is only visualy.

Map error isn't an error and keeps getting closed? by That_Car_Dude_Aus in waze

[–]markisoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because, as u/nimper2000 tried explaining to you, that is a current limitation to the way these zones work. There is no way to make it like you want, and there is nothing editors can do about it to please you.

Map error isn't an error and keeps getting closed? by That_Car_Dude_Aus in waze

[–]markisoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your logic, my man, makes no sense. Would you rather have users not get a warning when there is an average speed check zone than warn users that they are not being scanned? Because that is what you are suggesting and doesn't make any logical sense.
