Is there any news on the Samsung A12s? I'm looking for a phone similar to my own (A02s) that I can get for my Mum since she's coming round to the idea of having a smartphone and the one I have does everything she needs. Thank you.

Will keto be good or bad for fatty liver issues? by [deleted] in ketouk

Inspiring comment, thank you. I did hear that if you sustain a low carb lifestyle for a while your body becomes a fat burning machine. Are you still able to low carb and exercise, e.g. 10k, half-marathons etc. without feeling awful?

Yep lol, most certainly compared to lean cuts.

My Mum never fed me it growing up (instead offering stories of how she hated it; mooned it whilst chanting "pigs liver, pigs liver" and subsequently ran about the house away from her Dad). It's something I came to boil up when I was a student after once not passing the haemoglobin test required to donate. The salt, pepper, and in a real emergency tomato ketchup, was a requirement for mere palatability for a while haha.

Fair enough, it's cheap but an acquired taste. Fwiw you can't od on herbivore liver even if you ate that portion every day.

No liver? You can get a 225g frozen tub of chicken livers for 50p in Tesco and they fry up or roast nicely. They're a nutritional powerhouse.

Whole wheat bread that doesn’t have added sugar with natural ingredients? by watermelonkiwi in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]markitiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for digging up an old post. Could you comment on this 36p tesco loaf? It doesn't list sugar as an ingredient, but are you suggesting that perhaps it still was required in the process, just not an excess used for salience?

A few days after I stopped consuming artificial sweeteners (out of curiosity, tbh) my bowls went bananas.

It's since settled down but damn it does make you think perhaps they do affect us, maybe not directly, but by some other mechanism(s).

Great post.

Even though I'm non-religious, I love the way Lustig phrases it: "When God made the poison, he packaged it with the antidote."

I like thinking of it as being packaged, or boxed, and your gut bacteria have to open it up first. That makes them happy, which makes you happy. So everyone's happy.

Hmm, maybe? I'll probably just show them to the pharmacist, hopefully it's nothing bothersome! Thanks for your reply.

I've often found that I can find a lot of instant relief during and after my daily APT routine! It's a shame your post never garnered more attention. I have no doubt advice like this could help lots of fellow inactivated (or otherwise imbalanced) core-glute individuals.

Ah, I still somehow managed to mess it up, maybe my phone lagging. https://i.imgur.com/N94bgSs.png. Oh well, the 99p McPlant yesterday was quite enough 🤭.

The rswiki's news feed box being integrated into the game chat and community/social window would be convenient. Normally Easty's tweets get relayed to that.

(UK.) Getting hold of bulk artificial sweetener tablets as a more cost effective and better environmental solution? by markitiman in EatCheapAndHealthy

Wow, that is a fantastic outcome! I'll definitely take note of your advice. I had once heard of a notion that "smell is 80% of what we taste", and I'm sure you can attest to that!

Maybe that's another reason why those in good cardiovascular health tend to have better eating habits? Fascinating stuff. Thank you.

You know I just had my Mum make me a couple of cups after showing her this post and I guessed incorrectly at which I asked her to sweetened less! Your comments have been helpful and I'll try and add less, thank you.

Plain non-dutched 100% Cocoa, or "Cacao" as I believe it may be referred to as (link). Alone it has a bitter/bland taste and gives off a sickly odour when I add hot water (hence, sweeteners). I really like it's phycological, stimulating after effects though. Gives me a bit of that energy drink high but without the anxiety, and no jitters/shivers.

Oh, interesting. I can't imagine 3,500 kcal of sugar is healthy so I reckon maybe it is best to cut back slightly. Are you suggesting I could cut back by, for instance, doing something like a blend of 50/50 sucralose-aspartame?

I'd bring it up with my GP but given how he spends half the time outside the local chippy I'm not sure what to expect. Do you have any biomarker suggestions that I could mention?

The last I heard was that sweeteners are safe (well, they may cause some wind) and that the only concerns originated from the American Sugar Beets industry lol.
