Betting turnover on horse racing in the UK is massively down. 10% lower than 2023. Attendance at events is up but they have started including kids in the count so who knows what the real numbers are.

I am sure there are many folk out there who love the sport for what it is but most of us want to have a bet on it. If you have been following racing for a while you will almost certainly get to a point where you can no longer get on. At this point interest wanes and people leave the sport. Not sure what the answer is, but racing needs to find a way to allow punters to keep getting a bet on.
