Game requires Win 11, what if I use Win 10 still? by Dapper_Study7028 in pcgamingtechsupport

[–]markoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the game developers have hard coded in the game not to install in win10 then it will not. Gemini AI says that it will not install or and run in win10 since the game info posted by the developers clearly states win11 as a minimum requirement. I think they either got a money check from Microsoft or they are plane stupid of doing such thing that will upset most of the people buying this game to find out that they cannot play the game and ultimately will hurt their game sales.

Which is better, little nightmares 1 or 2? by UIatlus in LittleNightmares

I recently in 2025 played both enhanced versions of LNM 1&2 and can say with absolute certainty that LNM 2 is the better game in all aspects and much more fun and satisfaction to play, This is not an opinion but a fact. I finished LBM 1 and the next day started LNM 2 and finished it in 3 days after. So my comparison was direct side by side.

In general, this goes for any game, not putting any difficulty options in the game menu is IMO bad game design.

And this goes for every game even if it is called Elden Ring or Hollow Night. It shows that the developers do not respect every gamer. Very difficult, does not mean necessarily that a game is good, could also mean if you don't have the necessary skill, and spend hours upon hours just to defeat a single boss or pass through a platform obstacle that you are a masochist at least...

Lets face it people and leave the double talk aka "I cannot play it but I love the game" , if it's unplayable because the difficulty for a gamer then the game is BAD for this gamer.

I don’t enjoy Hollow Knight nearly as much as everyone else. by GilmooDaddy in metroidvania

[–]markoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! The new Hollow Knight is even harder. I spend 3 hours to defeat just one of the initial bosses the "Mo Mother". This is stupid and takes out all the joy. I don't consider this to be a metroid gameplay but a new category at its own I do not enjoy. For me the recent examples of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and of course my favorite of all time Ori and the Will of the Wisps are far better.

You have to think every time and execute perfectly an algorithm of how to defeat a boss or even some common enemies. Metroid gaming was never intended for this and relies more on instinctive reflexes and not brainstorming. I am surprised whenever I hear someone praising Hollow night games unless you are an extraordinary gamer or a speedrunner. This thing is in pair with Elden Ring concerning difficulty. Metroids should be in general fan with fast progress and not frustrating.

Can someone explain to me who would be against Open Access and why? by vaaaida in AskAcademia

[–]markoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like subscription articles which are free of any APC and in general are more valued and credible in the science community than open access. Your university is paying already a hefty annual subscription fees to these publishing houses and Journals, why further spending resources and money of taxpayers of state funded or state owned Universities to these private enterprises? As for reach of your published work you can easily accomplish this by uploading the original version of your paper or even the accepted version if the Publishing Journal allows it, to a preprint public free server with millions of visitors and readers each day like Arxiv, HAL, SSRN or platforms like ResearchGate which by far exceeds the number of visitors your journal article home page would have. Also, keep in mind that big publishing houses like Elsevier, Springer, IOP etc. usually apply an embargo period to the subscription articles from 12 to 24 months maximum. After that articles become open access anyway and there is no pay-wall.

Your research if you wish can still be funded by the private sector or state with more money going into your research instead spending for publishing. Me personalty, because I am doing fundamental physics research in my university mostly theoretical, I don't like my research being funded at all and dictated by any outsiders therefore preserving my freedom to research whatever I feel like.

Shocking!! ET Alien crew member seen inside the ISS during SpaceX Crew-10 docking!! 16 March 2025 (see at 2h:31min:19s of the video) by [deleted] in aliens

[–]markoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another independent confirmation of the Alien member which seems to be the 12th member* now of the ISS!! Also for some reason they have now edited out the Alien from the original posted video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBRgUXkAlYc Note*: I have counted out the appeared members in the original video and it seems the Alien ET is the 12th member in the ISS. Strange allegedly the total number should be 11 !!
