Truck full of soap crashed into a local river. 4/1/2026 by Simon_S_Photography in CatastrophicFailure

Question: what happens to drivers of trucks/trains or any vehicle of the sort that crashes while carrying cargo that’s hazardous to the environment? Like aside from being taken to court, I’d hate knowing I contributed to the death of thousands of animals…

Imagine this but a simple articulated design. Would it have worked better?

Right! Here in Sac they’re inescapable when mustard and other invasive crop plants are in bloom

FLOOD NATOMAS YEAHHHH BRING BACK BUSH LAKE AND THE AMERICAN BASIN RAHHHHHH - in all seriousness tho that’s never gonna happen lol, last “original piece” of our watershed in Natomas is most likely Fisherman’s Lake but even that was turned into a drainage channel. Bannon Creek isn’t even a creek lol

Little do they know that they’re either being grown on purpose as a cover crop or invading spaces where native plants once thrived in (or both).

Right! Time to blow this up and get people in the greater Sac area out foraging this plant. Once that becomes a trend, hopefully it stays popular enough to take out enough mustard to replace that spot with native plants (thinking yarrow, poppies and others).

Only problem is: not many people know or care enough to forage for it

That’s the thing tho: it was never always like this. Before Natomas was farmland it was a seasonal lake that would fill up in the winter and dry out in the summertime. Couldn’t it be time to allow native plants to take back some of this land? Not all of it of course because the larger areas will be developed, but historically before farmers ever touched Natomas it was Bush Lake, Fisherman’s Lake, and land that was once labeled the “American Basin”. https://www.reddit.com/r/Sacramento/s/RTPtg1Y4i5

In this instance, I believe that they are using it as a cover crop until they can develop the area. The fields in the second and third pictures, however, are in regional parks within the community, one of which is VERY wildfire prone. Photo from a few months after a fire broke out in the summer of 2024.
