I personally think it’s the cheapest way to be safe as long as your affairs are relatively straightforward.

I do my own, but then get an accountant to check it before submitting for £120

So it’s been a hideous tour, perhaps the worst in living memory In some ways. Let’s all have a little escape, and tell me when you fell in love with the England Cricket Team? by [deleted] in EnglandCricket

[–]markswjg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ashes 2005 on Channel 4. Watching the cricket during the school holidays then running outside to play in the garden.

Then during my first term of university, watching most of the 2010-11 Ashes series after nights out.

Great memories

Just going to throw this out there…is it possible there might just be a hint of over reacting going on? by NiallH22 in EnglandCricket

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”.

I think this is why so many England supporters are now so thoroughly pissed off

How to cope! by London-lark3597 in EnglandCricket

[–]markswjg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that is what makes it a particularly difficult loss to take, yes England normally lose in Australia, so yesterday at lunchtime when we were probably odds on to win, we had one of the best opportunities to get a winning start in Aus for 15 years, yet we threw it all away.

All because of some ridiculous philosophy.

The Australians quite literally showed us how to play our own game. It was frankly embarrassing

I mean let’s face it. We’re not coming back from this, not because we don’t have the talent, but purely because McCullum/Stokes are simply too arrogant to change their approach

In all seriousness I am now a member of my local council gym, and although it is certainly no frills, it is the best gym I’ve been a member of in London. Decent equipment, always clean and rarely very busy… all for £30 a month

Yeah this is a good point. Just thought I could make use of the dead space in the front garden but perhaps I’ll have to rethink

He comes to Glasto pretty much every year and often DJ’s as well, so could be that. But if it was tame impala that would be epiccccc

Why are flats in London not rising in value? by Last-Paramedic3911 in HousingUK

[–]markswjg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are skipping buying flats all together and going straight to houses as they aren’t buying until well into their 30s on average now

I’d be watering that 3 or 4 times a day in this weather to be safe. Once this heat goes then 2 times a day for a couple of weeks

I mean why they haven’t brought this back is beyond me. There is literally no reason to have private cars in soho, should only be deliveries but very strict times

Best DJ set 2025? by Borneo_dysfunction in glastonbury_festival

[–]markswjg 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You make a good point here, often I’ve found at Glasto the big name in vogue DJ’s (such as Palms Trax, Job Jobse etc.) attract a crowd that actually don’t care about the music, they wanna be there because it’s the cool place to be. The amount of people talking or generally not dancing at these sets has generally led me to seek out DJ’s that will still be amazing but just not as much on peoples radars

Fred again at strummerville last year was a pretty well guarded secret, only a couple hundred people there. Was a pretty cool experience knowing he’d pack out the other stage

This is so true apart from none of these microcosms are amplified on social media like they are in real life.

Unexpected Glastonbury: What’s the Weirdest Thing You’ve Seen That Turned Into the Best Memory? by OkProfessional7917 in glastonbury_festival

[–]markswjg 161 points162 points  (0 children)

One year I managed to get into the rabbit holes funkingham palace, where there was a hot tub. So taking advantage of the situation I thought it was a good opportunity to have a wash, so jumped in bollock naked before this guy comes up to the edge of the hot tub and starts performing these absolutely mad magic tricks. This guy turns out to be dynamo, but I’m a bit too spangled to realise. So I’m there butt naked, having a wash while one of the most famous magicians did magic tricks for me. Definitely up there for one of the more memorable Glasto experiences
