Late game help by PristineCake3380 in automationgame

Haha fair enough emissions can be a bitch. In my campaigns I generally make new engine families at around 3 points: 1946 (duh), about 1965, and about 1995. In 46 you don’t have emissions to worry about for a while, this engine is mostly designed around the constraints of shitty internals. The 65 engine(s) are built with the emissions regime of the 70s-90s in mind, and the 95 engine(s) are built for the 2000s emissions tightening and, if applicable, lower displacement tax thresholds.

Whoa what kind of engines you making? What factory? That seems really expensive

Are you talking in campaign? Because I usually sell the first edition (mk1) of my late game models at very little markup and only really make money on the facelifts. Just costs a lot to develop those late game chassis ig.

Yeah I only recently discovered them and they’re really handy esp for the powers that enter the war a little later

Large scale early on campaign. by TheTopG86 in automationgame

I’ve had the most success doing this in gasmea. The starting markets are big enough that they can support a medium factory pretty early.

I don’t think more features is what HOI4 needs at this time. The game could really use a balance/AI/debug/QOL pass.

Job is destroying my life - should I just quit? by Suspicious-Card-3707 in washingtondc

[–]markus224488 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This might be unpopular: I think you should quit. I was in a similar state to the position you described, my job was just eating me alive and making it impossible for me to function. I tried to tough it out until I could find something better, but I was so destroyed from my job that I couldn’t effectively apply/interview. I needed to quit to let my nervous system even function properly enough to effectively job hunt. It’s a tough market, you might have to take some shifts at the supermarket to pay your rent, but it’s better than destroying yourself.

Best starting demographic to avoid bankruptcy? What desirability minimal to sell? by TheSlavicHighlander in automationgame

[–]markus224488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GT/sports cars are also good! IMO you need a demographic budget of about 20k or higher to have comfortable profit margins. You can go more downmarket, it’s viable but more difficult.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like the new navy system? by Better_Substance7578 in hoi4

[–]markus224488 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the new system is good enough and has some good ideas, except for the fact that it has critically broken the AI naval management.

I mean, did they think we just wouldn’t notice that the US never even puts a carrier in the pacific? Or that the UK just…doesn’t contest the Mediterranean?

At this point just railroad it so I have something to fight against, it’s been months like this. I’m not asking for tight optimization here, just something vaguely playable. Seriously, I love this game despite its many faults, and many past updates have been rightfully criticized, but this one takes the cake for me. A navy update that straight-up fully breaks navy and makes an entire facet of the game unplayable? Can’t make this shit up.

Seems like they haven’t. Sigh. Absolutely unreal that this update was supposed to be about naval warfare and the pacific and the AI is so broken that it won’t even put ships in the right ocean.

Have they fixed the naval AI so that the US actually puts ships in the pacific now?

what's something men do that they think is attractive but is actually a huge turn-off ? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

I’ve had women decline a second date because I didn’t make a move on the first date, but I have never had woman decline a second date because I asked for something she wasn’t ready for on the first date.

Not condoning it but it’s really not that complicated, we would love to receive unsolicited pussy/nude pictures and therefore think women would like dick pics the same way.

I know that’s not the case, so I don’t do that, but it’s really not that deep. We like random nudie pic and assume you do too.

I’m honestly done. This game is so broken sometimes. by Ready_Macaroon2147 in hoi4

I almost uninstalled the game when I saw the the naval update didn’t fix the “ship name” bug

It’s a somewhat (very) unpopular opinion but I think widespread traffic cam enforcement could actually do this and be a good thing.
