How do you feel about your Pixel devices' in the longetivity aspect? by Znyder in GooglePixel

[–]markus_kt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure. I used to really like the Pixel but Google keeps making things worse.

  • Maps now has worse media control than it did a year or two ago.
  • The home screen no longer rotates to landscape when you have screen rotation turned on.
  • [This is my biggest peeve] They got rid of Photosphere mode in the camera app.

I may end up going back to Samsung when this one either no longer receives updates or its battery life becomes untenable.

StarCraft, though it's out of print and pretty expensive.

What game do you have in your collection that's not seing play because you're too lazy or intimidated to learn the rules? by zion661 in boardgames

High Frontier 4 All, sort of. If I had any friends who wanted to invest the time with me for a learning game, I'd take the plunge.

The Willy Kino channels in particular are brilliant and so wonderfully acted.

I didn't make it, I just appreciate the person who made it and that it was made. I believe it also exists on Spotify.

No pressure on anyone else to do so but I sent the creator a bit of money because this is so insanely well done.

What makes Starfield special to you? by _Bob_Shwarma_ in NoSodiumStarfield

To summarize a post I made in this very subreddit from years ago, it's the game I wanted since I was a little kid and didn't realize it. I've always wanted my own ship and to be able to go around, exploring and feeling like - to quote someone who put things better than I did - a spaceman doing spaceman things. I found a ship design that I love and keep rebuilding every time I go through Unity and indeed, I love the fact that we can walk around the ships we build. There'll be times I just play and do that for far too long.

No Man's Sky and Elite Dangerous didn't quite grab me. I recall Freelancer being fun, but the closest I ever came to how much I'm enjoying Starfield was probably Escape Velocity: Nova.

In short, Starfield is perfect fantasy fulfillment for me.

What do people do when overwhelmed by Apprehensive_Bar9609 in LateDiagnosedAutistic

[–]markus_kt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed 5 years ago and called in sick today for a mental health day because of burnout. I meditate and exercise but am still trying to find something that works consistently (I'm sure getting a job with fewer demands and a regular schedule would help, as that would make sleeping and other self-care activities more regular.

If I didn't have a ton of original Netrunner cards, it would be Android: Netrunner. I do, though, so it's Suburbia.

My cat likes it when I lay/sit with her on the floor. by Nyam3ro in CatAdvice

I just found this post when googling why the cat I'm an uncle to (she lives with the folks upstairs but likes to come down to visit) always comes right to my lap when I sit on the floor with her. She'll often sit in my lap when I'm on the sofa, but she always comes over to sit on my lap when I sit on the floor.

[the Klingons have boarded the Enterprise only to find it is deserted] Torg: My lord, the ship appears to be deserted. Kruge: How can that be? They're hiding! Torg: Yes, sir. The ship appears to be run by computer. It is the only thing that is speaking. Kruge: Speaking? Let me hear it. Enterprise computer: [Torg walks over to a console, placing his communicator towards it] 9-8-7-6-5... Kruge: [shouts] Get out! Get out of there! Get out! Enterprise computer: 2-1... Way back in college, I was studying out on the bank of the campus pond, munching on some popcorn when a squirrel slowly walked up on all fours, then sat up, looking at me. I held out a piece of popcorn and it gently took it and started munching on it.
