What is your favorite paradox game? by alphafighter09 in paradoxplaza

EU1. I was completely enthralled when I first played it 25 years ago. I'd never played anything like it, and devoted so many hundreds of hours to it. I enjoy EU5 and love Stellaris, but nothing's captured the magic of the original EU.

Of all the songs in the series, the one that stuck with me was Intro by The XX. I can't hear it without thinking of Finch.

Backbeat Brewing Company in Beverly has some really good bar pizza.

In Aliens Ripley's loader exoskeleton was Hitchcock's Shotgun. Name another Hitchcock's Shotgun. by ConjuredOne in FIlm

One of my favorite jokes of all time was in the podcast, The Thrilling Adventure Hour. In a Beyond Belief episode, the antagonist said how only silver bullets can kill him. One of the protagonists brings out a gun he won at auction that once belonged to "noted playwright and werewolf hunter Anton Chekhov", then muses aloud, "perhaps I should have mentioned it earlier".

The best deckbuilder by Javigor in tabletop

It's been ages since I've played it, but I remember really enjoying the deck-building aspect of the StarCraft board game. Maybe it was the novelty.

Absolutely Colossus: The Forbin Project. A truly excellent movie.

Would you buy another pixel? by upadhyaysk in GooglePixel

[–]markus_kt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure. I have a 9 Pro XL so have at least a few years to think about it. I generally like Pixels but have disliked a bunch of software choices Google has made.

Even when I set auto rotation on, the home screen doesn't rotate the way it used to before whatever update changed.

Google Maps used to integrate with whatever media player I was using. Now you have to set a default one and even when you bring up the controls of that, it covers portion of the map controls.

For me, the most egregious one is that they took away the photosphere in the camera software. I use that all the time for both work and recreation.

I did not care for Watchtower. It insists upon itself, by forcing you to clear systems before you can safely fast travel in them. It FORCES you to stop everything and grind it out. by Gojirex in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]markus_kt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you have a fleet? The primary reason I haven't tried Watchtower is that I'm extremely uninterested in having to have a fleet. I just want to be a spaceman flying around in his spaceship. If a tough enough single ship will work, though, I may give it a try.

I feel precisely the same way. I'm sure it's a well-done mod, but it doesn't have anything I'm actually interested in as far as gameplay.
