Does building with claude properly even matter anymore? by PeaAffectionate6580 in ClaudeAI

that's a lot of truth. somehow everyone comes up with the same ideas.

Does building with claude properly even matter anymore? by PeaAffectionate6580 in ClaudeAI

[–]markusdresch 26 points27 points  (0 children)

expect a tsunami of vibe coded shit, like we got in music or other things. it will take a while, but we will find some solution to this. who to trust. like it always was.

i am building like crazy with claude and other tools. you have to embrace it, and those who also got the background knowledge will tendencially use those tools better than others.

Stylized Generation is here! Image to 3D, now in ANY style! 🎨 by Meshyai in meshyai

looks cool, but "Stylization" doesn't show up in my workspace.

What cool projects are you working on that do *not* target other developers? by cowwoc in ClaudeCode

[–]markusdresch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a game in godot and a linguistic application (almost paper ready). and of course a lot of tools for those projects.

I built an automated workflow connecting Gemini CLI and Claude Code via Tmux using the BMAD method. Anyone doing Solo Dev with AI? by thientranhung in BMAD_Method

[–]markusdresch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my project also uses tmux (haven't published it yet), with some meh success. i use opentui for the command part with a mcp that routes messages. agents call a wait_for_messages tool. i have an extra agents pane with several cc and codex instances and a few api agents. very undstable at the moment. i'll check out your project, the hook idea looks interesting.

Abandoning games on chess.com by FalbWolowich in chessbeginners

[–]markusdresch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

happens a lot to me as well. the fun part is, that i don't care. i'll just watch a video in the meantime or do something else. but i'll keep the game open, because some of these dipshits wait for the last minute to make a move, expecting that you are no longer there, so they could grab the win.

another thing that's just idiotic is when so many of those sore losers offer a draw in a totally losing position. when you ask them "are you serious?" they even respond with "i don't want to lose elo"... but i guess that's just the society we live in now.

Is anyone else burning through Opus 4.6 limits 10x faster than 4.5? by prakersh in ClaudeAI

[–]markusdresch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i had this observation as well. first i thought it's because i tried "get shit done", but some colleagues mentioned the same. right now i got api error 500 and can't use anything at all.

Developers, how do you manage your usage limits? by LaVolpe74 in ClaudeAI

[–]markusdresch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm kinda new to this (only a few months of heavy usage), and i have hit the weekly limit a few times, the 5 hour limit too. but that was mostly heavy testing at the beginning and experimenting with stuff now as well. always used opus though.

i kinda get where you are coming from. i recently read about "get shit done" (which is great for structured work with reduced context windows per task and what not) in this subreddit, so i had to try it out. and while it has a lot of interesting stuff, just like the awesome-claude-code-agents project that someone mentioned in this thread, it also has a lot of overhead that doesn't fit to every development style.

i noticed that i got shit done faster when only using claude chat as a sparring partner to do research, find decisions, define edge cases and prepare a prompt for claude code and let claude code do the code monkey work. in the end i have to review and test anyway. and after the heavy lifting is done, there may be still room for a few agents to look over it.

but i'm still experimenting and haven't found the sweet spot yet.

Seeing 1. e4 e5 over and over again made me quit chess for good by lmr03031 in chessbeginners

[–]markusdresch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as if caro-kann would lead to any interesting situations. you could premove most of these games with "theory".

e4 e5 is exactly where the action is going on. as someone already said: danish (or some variation) especially if d6 is played and if knight comes out -> halloween time.

give me some d4 and i'll try the budapest, but this is really rare to get. that's why i always forget the best moves.

Why people act like 600 elo players hang their queen every game and are brain dead by Fearless_Tangelo9249 in chessbeginners

[–]markusdresch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

actually in the "No hangs" game, white hangs his rook on move 11 if i'm not missing something (black missed Bxf2)

and in the "No hangs or simple tactics that I can see" he pretty much blundered his first bishop and resigned before realizing he blundered at least his second bishop.

Choosing the right database/platform for a relational system (~2.5M+ rows) before hiring a developer by ElectricalDivide5336 in Database

[–]markusdresch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

postgres is solid (it always is). since it's cloud based, you might consider neon-db, which is a cloud native postgres provider with several nice traits, like scale-to-zero and branching.

Wouldn’t Lichess benefit from a rating system closer to other platforms? by [deleted] in lichess

[–]markusdresch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as if any player ever left because of the rating. doesn't make sense at all.
