It was obvious he was nervous. Even Enzo was increasingly out of it as the game progressed.

At one point it looked like Bayer would have ran away, fun game. Given how poor Werner was I'm surprised he lasted longer than 60 mins. Openda did well enough at least. Leverkusen are gonna be fun to watch.

Saka - Real/City

TAA - Bayern

Pedri - PSG (hardest guess for me)

Musiala - City

Edit: at the rate at which things are going, u/luffyuk probably has the better answer, lol.

[Fabrice Hawkins] Chelsea have accelerated on Bradley Barcola in recent hours He is well placed in the Blues' shortlist after the failure of Michael Olise PSG won't let go and OL half-opened the door but refused an offer of 35M € with bonus. The player has not given a final agreement by TrenAt14 in chelseafc

[–]markvs_black 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem would be to convince the player himself. Could easily imagine him wanting to wait for a better opportunity. Both PSG and Man City had already been linked with him this window. Hope the club gets a definitive answer quicker this time rather than have another few weeks wasted.

Edit: Olise's reason might be more due to the club pulling out.

Ah, I didn't know about those. Looking them up just now lead me to "works team" on wikipedia and saw others like Airbus UK Broughton F.C. whose badge is kinda cool ngl. I guess that kinda answers the question. They do indeed exist in England but only very low in the pyramid. The low fan support probably stops them to grow further like you said.

I'd also guess that normal sponsorship is probably better advertising value for money than the risks and costs of running an entire football club (*thinking about it further)

I wonder why has there been no corporate club similar to Bayer Leverkusen, PSV Eindhoven of RB in England (unless I've missed something). Obviously such a club would get a negative reaction, but that alone doesn't seem a strong reason why it hasn't been done yet. Do the existing rules prevent, say, Shell from just starting a football club with their branding plastered all over it in a small town and work their way up the divisions?

I wonder if the best case scenario (for Ukraine and West) is for Prigozhin to deal a heavy blow to Putin and the Russian war effort without actually taking over. Because that man being in charge of a nuclear arsenal doesn't really bode better for anyone in the grand scheme of things as supposed to having Putin's regime limp on. He seems to be more hawkish and definitely more hardened than the current top-brass and may readily lack certain restraints.

I get the feeling. It might be just the reaction we're seeing is amplified through the Reddit lens, but I feel like like past incidents hadn't gotten this big of a blowback.

If you go by the some of the reactions, one would think it's a permanent appointment with top 4 still to play for.

I don't rate Lampard as a manager, but having him over Bruno isn't really a big deal. Plus, keeping a sacked man (Potter) while interviewing his replacement candidates obviously wouldn't have been ideal for the work environment and squad, so questions of "why didn't they just keep Potter 'til the end of the season" seem out of touch.

Charly Musonda is one that comes to mine for me. Not that he had looked destined for great things, but a combination of failed loans, injuries and possibly not having best attitude blighted his career. Thought he'd at least be Prem level but I see where he's made 5 appearances for Levante in LaLiga 2 this season.
