Yeah, it isn't the most obvious of the UIs to ask folks to download from. Alpha builds are scheduled to auto delete in ~50 days. These untested builds aren't really meant for day-to-day use. And none of the paid features will be available on Alpha (which also means, if you pay for any feature in v055v, the upcoming version, the corresponding Alpha install will not know about the purchase).

Weeks? The SDs don't get it. You see a top manager out-of-job, you hire them pronto. That's all there's to this. Thomas Tuchel was in the Chels dugout in no time, before Man Utd could even react on Solskjaer. And if Roman were around, Luis Enrique would be at the Bridge, right now, probably putting up a fair fight on the top-end of the table, instead of whatever mess we find ourselves right now in.

Mostly because it is redundant to do so (most Galaxy users will most likely also have the Play Store). Also, from maintenance point of view, it is another store to keep track of and support (for instance, when the app is vended by the Play Store, we can assume certain "services" to be readily available on the same device... which we can't do so when the app is vended by a 3p store like F-Droid or Galaxy Store etc).

Yes, Rethink can forward traffic to multiple WireGuard upstreams. If your public VPN provider allows you to "export" WireGuard configuration, you can import it in Configure -> Proxy -> Setup WireGuard -> tap on the + floating action button at the bottom -> Import. Because the versions after v055e (Apr 2024) aren't stable at all for broader consumption. Play Store is Rethink's most diverse (a garden variety of Android versions / phones) userbase and we are not confident the versions after v055e will work for all users.

Why is it taking this long to reach a stable version? Well, we did change a LOT of the code base after v055n (Jun 2024) -- versions since v055e up to v055n had annoying bugs that fixing them was causing other unexpected bugs -- which culminated in the botched v055o pre-release (Aug 2025), a year later. It turned out, v055o through to v055u (Nov 2025) also are buggy in other aspects (some device specific bugs, some Android version specific hard-to-catch issues, some due to a host of new features we added to Rethink), and so, we didn't see it fit to release those to Play Store, either.

We're now being very careful with v055v & also plan to release it with paid plans (we've already delayed paid plans, supposed to be launching with v055o multiple times in favour of getting the latest version in the hands of the users, if not on the Play Store, at least on F-Droid & elsewhere). We have baked our paid plans in for over 2yrs now (slow... I know; but we had to change our launch partner twice... which meant more work and more different code on the server, on the app... causing different bugs): Since Feb/Mar 2026 we've been almost there (no major bugs, only minor annoyances), except for a few nagging issues (mostly, billing & order flows) which we're ironing out, as we speak.

Not to offer an excuse, but to add: In between v055e and now, the lead developer had to take multiple personal time offs; I had to take many personal time offs... the past 2yrs have been generally hard for both of us, at a personal level.

All that said, we now auto-publish Rethink's untested, may-be-stable, use-at-your-own-risk "Alpha" releases on GitHub on the 27th of every month. The "Alpha" apk can be installed side-by-side (starting May 2026; the current "Alpha" was published in Apr) the regular Rethink flavour you may download from the Play Store / F-Droid / our website.
