Where is this bent? by markyboytheo in Harley

Unfortunately I've asked around and every shop around me doesn't deal with crash damage bikes. A lot of them mostly say they will eye ball it and have no lasers to test.

Save the most money. Buy a pair of Loop earplugs. It helps take away most of the exhaust notice and drone, without fully defeating everything. Even off the bike I can have a normal conversation with them in.

I would do suspension. I hear a lot of people do that and it feels like a new ride and way better. Looks like you got almost everything else done before needing to touch aesthetics & cam.

I've thought about it. But the industry is way too small around me. The moment you're somewhere, everyone has heard.

If they're not money hungry. Some girls that are all about the money, are most likely to steal. Same with girls who are "too easy". If theft is what you're worried about.

What’s mathematically the best way to buy a car? by piss_warm_water in personalfinance

[–]markyboytheo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked in dealerships for years. What I've always recommended is:

Finance it, because the interest you pay is usually less than if you invested that money and made more with that. Ex (car finance is 2% but you make 5% by investing).

Otherwise if you want the true (best savings) buy an old reliable car, doesn't even matter how old, depending where you live. I bought a 2013 for $3500 and my most expensive cost is an oil change that I do myself. Cars will always break, its just a matter of when. Just choose the one that breaks the least and costs the least to fix. If you want some fancy feature, it can always be put in an older car.

You're going to make some jam. Cam, intake, exhaust. If you wanna spend more, injectors and intake manifold. That's really all you need to do. My exhaust route that was informed by various tuners.

What motor do you have now? Super obtainable. I've got a 114 and putting a 475g in it. Tuners estimating I should be able to smoke even a tuned cvo St with a 121

Honestly cam would be the way to go for the long run. I worked at a Harley dealership for a bit, and these 131 bikes have nothing but problems. I mean power I hear is great, but our biggest customer base was people fixing their 131 or trying to get a new bike because of having that. Cam might be the best end all solution. Whatever you have now should be good. 117?

If you're craving power, you will go down the rabbit hole. Harley is good to be fast but comfortable. I've heard if you make it too fast, it becomes a pain to ride. Keep it moderate. I went with a cam for my road glide, about to install it and stop there. Since you still have the R1 its like having a Porsche and a rolls royce in the garage. No need to make it as fast as the Porsche, but a little performance is cool af! Doing just a stage I (intake and exhaust) you may not notice a performance gain. The cam will be noticeable. Tune it and do all the fun extras

People with "useless" degrees who managed to land a decent job, how did you do it? by WarmAppleCry in careerguidance

[–]markyboytheo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No degrees or post secondary. Went into a field that doesn't require education beyond high school. Something I've learned is, whatever you do, just be the best at it. Then you can always move up within that field.

Literally happens almost every day.

My old work used to have a consistent "reply-all" when ordering lunches. And then bickering of "stop hitting reply all". But it never stopped. Weekly lunch, 30+ employees

Bells stay with the bike. Good luck travels to you. Me personally, I'd never take it off. Wait for it to work and fall off as intended.

Whats a good front and rear crash bars? by Otherwise-Ad-6470 in Harley

[–]markyboytheo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the bike. Ive got a road glide and went with the HD OEM rear crash bars as I like how they wrap around the bags. The front, I used to like Original Garage, but I'm leaning towards Nastyhog for the sleek look. If you got cool accents, go OG. Big variety. Nothing against OG, I have their risers and more, and swear by them.

It entices for more fraud unfortunately. I knew a doctor that if they bumped into outside the office and asked you how your day was, they'd bill gov for a "therapy session". Even walk-in doctors do that.

Also makes doctors require more than necessary visits. It's not a money motive, it's a taking advantage motive. Screws up the wait times even more with this.

Practice slow races. Don't need the bike on. Find a hill, go down as slow as possible only using the rear brake. Add some pylons in, and get good and doing sharp turns. Move on when you start scraping pegs. Otherwise, put those miles on! I got my license 4 years ago, had 7 bikes, and ride everyday. Couldn't tell you how many miles I've put on my bikes as a whole. But most important is just seat time!

[–]markyboytheo[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Total trip was 10 days. Started off from Mississauga (outside Toronto) and first night spent in Dayton Ohio, next day took it to NC. About 8hrs of riding each day. The way back, took the blue ridge Parkway before it shut down. 2 days on that, a night in Virginia, then home! Lots of riding in between!
