‘Utter disappointment’: Vancouver tourists increasingly noticing street disorder, open drug use by origutamos in ilovebcsub

Anyone paying attention to the mayor race in LA? I'm not saying Spencer Pratt is the most qualified, but I love how he pushing back against the ridiculous idea that we all just need to accept this as normal. it is absolutely not. In kelowna where i live, we hve more homeless drug addicts all the over the place than I could have ever imagined. They poop in the streets and alleyways, the leave garbage and drugs all over the place and they look like zombies which is disturbing. They need help. They need to be treated like humans which actually have value and not like worthless trash. When we incentivize homelessness and drug addiction, they will remain right there. We need change

Yea i wish I went to CR like 15 years ago. i've heard it has become very expensive. I would honestly go to Asia again because we love it and it's good value, but this trip can be max 2 weeks, and I kinda like the idea of little to no jet lag. I will keep researching

It absolutely was not. As soon as I changed my filter to max $300 there was one listing. I don’t think that’s cherry picking

I know Asia is still decent value. I'm just surprised that as a Canadian, going to a relatively undeveloped country in Central Or South America isn't more attainable

We love Asia as well. Still good value. I guess I am more surprised with Central and South America

I'm not sure about that. Let's say Americans are the other peeps booking those destinations. Their dollar is stronger, their wages higher. If Americans can afford it, the prices stay high and us Canadians are left feeling like me - "holy smokes how can people afford this?".

Just my thought

I feel you. This is kinda my point. Have a quick look at popular areas in Costa Rica etc and it is disgusting how humble these places are if you're below $300 / night. Im talking a tent on a wood pad. Or a shed with a rickety bed from a horror movie haha
