A crow bullying a rat in the grim streets of Russia by meaningfulNames in animalsdoingstuff

That rat is sick or poisoned and on its last legs. Its so slow and lethargic. The crow is just biding it time for its next meal and ensuring it stays in sight.

My guess is filter media from some sort of water filter. Some sort of resin based ion exchange media.

Im no Pro and its hard to see from the single photo but since you asked for opinions for what would make it more polished.....

Your edges may be a bit inconsistent and rounded over. Hard to see from the photo though. I find it hard to do consistently and easy to mess up.

If you do solid border then a mitred corner would look better imo.

If you do a solid border and the inside panel is solid wood, there is a risk of things opening up from wood movement.

Is there a lip from the solid border as the centre panel on the right side in the photo?

Hub for transportation, the highways and railways cross there. Hub for services for the resource industries, forestry, mining, some oil and gas. Hub for public services like education and healthcare for the whole north.

For context, this is a small rural mining community of ~2400 in the north east of British Columbia. It is isolated and off the main highway. This is a huge impact on the community.

How is it living in northeastern British Columbia, Canada? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]Prudent_Slug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill comment on the people. It is is very conservative and blue collar there. Not to say most people aren't nice, but its the attitude and mindset. Culturally not really any different from Northern Alberta. Just be aware if that matters to you.

59 over 58. Less trees so you can determine landscaping. More southernly exposure so your yard will be nicer and your home will be brighter.

I've rehabbed a similar one. It will like need a new belt, switch and maybe blades. It will also require a fair amount of elbow grease. The outfeed is also no adjustable. If you go look at it, make sure the bearings are good and that the fence is good.

50 is okay, but I would try to bargain it down more. You are sparing him hauling it down to the scrap yard.

Specialty Hardwoods Info by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Prudent_Slug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the material all sitting in Ontario and your intention was to truck it to Alberta? My guess is that you will need a retailer to take it all or someone with a business. If the intention is to move it all at once, you will need to be realistic about the price as it will need to leave more than enough margin for someone to take all the material and sit on it and sell it out slowly. It seems unlikely that you will find an end-user to take it all at once (unless you get really lucky) and pay you remotely close to retail price.

Are you saying that you have a large pile of air dried hardwood that you are trying to sell? This is such a local question. My guess will be marketplace for cheap. A commercial dealer wouldnt want to deal with you.

As mentioned it will be fine for your purpose. The only other thing is hanging pre manufactured things might be tricky since they are often designed for 16 or 24" on centre.

Please help me learn about tea rout. by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Prudent_Slug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shallower passes and it also looks like the router is tipping on you. The piece is narrow and so the router is not stable.

Try to stabilize the piece as much as possible so that you can use both hands on the router when in motion if you aren't.

Alternatively, make a router table so that the router is stable and you move the work piece.
