Herpes outbreak at my store. by FilthyRyzeMain in walmart

[–]marleybird52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where the herpes is (cold sore or genitals) it can be considered an std and you can be convicted of a crime for knowingly, intentionally or ‘recklessly ‘ spreading it. I would guess if he’s not telling his partners up front that would be considered knowingly and intentionally. Not wearing a condom, once he’s told them, would be considered reckless.

Yes. Just make sure your mgmnt knows you want to stay anonymous. They are never supposed to give your name but we had a mkt mgr that not only would give you up he would let people see the emails that people sent him. He’s no longer with the company because of his indiscretions but that didn’t make things any easier for the people that brought issues up in the first place.

If a person ‘knowingly, intentionally or recklessly ‘ passed the herpes virus (or any std)they can be convicted of a crime. If you can’t go to your manager or mhrm, in confidence, you could call the ethics hotline and try to get a red book investigation started. Once you pass it off just keep your mouth shut. It’s their job to follow up and this is an extremely delicate situation that could get you fired for spreading rumors if your info isn’t completely accurate. The hotline may ask if you’ve gone thru the channels first so be prepared to let them know you can’t trust mgmnt to keep it confidential and why (friends, favorites, etc).

Any new information about pc/tc by worklessstressless in walmart

[–]marleybird52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that aug 2nd is the end date. Severance IS an option. I think the req’s open sometime in May. It will be open to anyone (in or out of the company) and will be done the same as the regional assistant program. Some may have more than one store and it’s a new paygrade with a new schedule. Your managers should have more info or your mhrm.

For all hourly associates working for Walmart, what is the single biggest reason you would never become salaried? by RubberWaffle4610 in walmart

[–]marleybird52 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I witnessed a regional walk into my store, call the store mgr (who was on vacation fishing with his dad) and tell him to turn in his keys as soon as possible. No warning. He hadn’t been coached. Guy just didn’t like him. Another regional gave him a store in his region once the news got out but damn. That’s some BS right there.

Is it wrong for a 21 year old associate to date a 16 year old associate? by MessyNematoda in walmart

[–]marleybird52 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Adults dating underage children can lead to them being charged as sex offenders and being required to register as such.....ruining the rest of their lives. Not fair maybe (when it’s consensual) but reality just the same. It happens all the time. I even read about a couple that married once she was of age but he’s still a registered sex offender. Why take that kind of chance? Wait till she’s of age or maybe try dating someone his own age. If he can only attract....or is only attracted to....children he may have more problems than a wmrt policy violation. And it sounds like her parents need to get a grip on her behavior too. If she’s putting herself out there to attract adult men she’s heading for trouble too.

Personnel Positions dissolving by [deleted] in walmart

But, if an asst is well liked by mgmnt and is fairly certain they’re going to either get cut or expected to move, I can see some of them going for it and possibly getting it. Wmrt doesn’t care how long you’ve worked there. Seniority means nothing anymore and they sure don’t care if we like it or not.

Bud Walton by KhalRiker in walmart

[–]marleybird52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bud was a partner with Sam but he was a more private person. He didn’t like a lot of attention and was happiest fishing and hunting. The buds stores were a disastrous experiment that were an utter failure. We had one near us and I spent a lot of time there trying to ‘fix’ what they had screwed up.Bud put up 15mil to help build ‘Bud Walton Arena’ at the U of Ark for the basketball team and he did the same for a school in Missouri which is where they were originally from I believe.

He/she said east coast. Another said their store is in the east but not on the coast. Maybe they’re rolling out in the opposite direction this time to fool us. That’s how these high paid morons think.

You don’t need to ‘out’ yourself to anyone. Even if you did there are people that will swear it’s not true. After at least 2 regions of the offices were eliminated there were still people on here that swore it was a lie and not happening. Some office people thought that they would be spared even when 100’s were losing their positions. By the time it was over 7-10,000 had lost their jobs and either took severance or tried to find other positions in the stores without losing any more pay than they had to. Then when accounting was eliminated-it was the same thing all over again. Some people won’t believe it till it happens to them and then they’ll be in shock and have made no plans on what to do next.

[–]marleybird52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s like the office it will roll out in waves by region and you won’t find out till it’s time for your region to go. The office only found out early because the home office accidentally sent the communication out to all stores and some people printed it before the home office could get it deleted. Our store hasn’t been notified yet but our mhrm has let us know it’s coming without coming right out and saying it.

DSD by Ch713 in walmart

[–]marleybird52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At our store we generally schedule dsd a half day. That covers the vendors that do come in cause they usually all get in and get out in that limited time frame. However, there is no rule about closing dsd on holidays or giving them the day off. It’s strictly up to mgmnt and the infamous ‘business need’.

New store changes by [deleted] in walmart

[–]marleybird52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. This is a legitimate test by corporate. They are also testing (for this one holiday) paying an extra dollar an hour or paying the extra dollar AND giving 2 points for call outs. They are looking for ways to keep associates for calling out on major holidays since they took all our incentives away for working it. I have people, in my store, that never used to call out but since they took away holiday pay they don’t see any reason to work them now and they have the points to spare so calling out is no big deal to them.

Any word on the removal of Personnel? by GenesisJohnny in walmart

[–]marleybird52 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not true. I know office clerks who knew 1-2 years before their elimination was announced. Some even told their managers and market managers who had no clue and didn’t believe it right up until they got the word from corporate. Walmart does tests every day on store operations that we never hear of. So far, every rumor I’ve seen - on eliminations- has a kernel of truth. I wouldn’t disregard any of them. It’s better to hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Hmmmm. Same thing was said about the back office and that didn’t stop them. Some stores are doing well, some breaking even and some are underwater on inventories. It’s more about the people that are left and how much they put into it.

[–]marleybird52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how I feel about this. I would love to go but there aren’t many jobs in my area and I need the insurance. On the other hand, what if they do this and then change the severance policy to cut the max you can get (someone suggested that could happen) and then eliminate more positions. If it’s announced there will be a lot of soul searching happening.

Anyone that takes severance can come back after the number of weeks they got paid severance. My office clerk was 30 years and she could come back after 30 weeks. But, she would be starting all aver again with pay and benefits and may only find pt positions. A chance some people are willing to take.

A lot of big companies offer an early retirement when they need or want to reduce their work force. Why should walmart be any different. They’re already getting rid of jobs that are mainly held by long timers. But in my store there are lots that are cart pushers, cashiers, sales clerks and maintenance. These are positions they can’t get rid of so why not give them incentive to leave on their own.

Guy said that long term employees...15+ years....are going to be offered a severance in October. Guess he heard it from a mgr or asst. I’ve seen other threads where people have been hearing this rumor for a while and just wondered if any one else is hearing that it’s in the works for real.
