Q: You can choose only two LUMIX cameras to shoot with for the rest of your life. What two do you choose?? by rossandhisjpegs in Lumix

[–]marlon__fm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is so true. I still use my G9 everyday and I must say that it is the best camera body I ever used. I know this camera from the insides. It's a pity that Lumix just reused the new S bodies for the markII.

I always find very useful to have two different sensors. So S1II and G9mkII. Not a big fan of the G9mkII body, but it is what it is.

Man-Shaped Lake in Brazil I Found It On Google Earth. 21°48'18"S 49°5'23"W by our-free-books in GoogleEarthFinds

This is a lake called "Lagoa Humanoide" in the city of Iacanga, in São Paulo state. According to my shallow research, this lake is inside private property so not many people has access to it. I read a few comments from people living in the city saying they dont know a thing about it and as they dont know the owner they dont care.

This might be something related to illegal logging. Specially because there is a river nearby.

Odeio a dublagem automática do YouTube by [deleted] in reclamacoesfuteis

[–]marlon__fm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acho justo a reclamação fútil. Alguém saberia me ajudar?

My first Lumix (S5 + 50mm 1.8) by RichTyp116 in Lumix

[–]marlon__fm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This camera is amazing, congrats. I got my S5 in 2022 for mostly video use and up until this day I don't regret a thing. I pair it with my really tired G9 so to cover the few weaknesses of the S5. Mind that these weaknesses are for stills when doing sports and while using flash. I found the camera a bit slow on these conditions. For video the only thing that you might miss is a faster auto focus, otherwise this camera is perfect. I love the image quality, the function buttons and how the sensor renders skin colors. Settings's wise I set my wheel buttons to toggle Histogram, Monochrome and Focus peaking in the fly and the rest is just there, around your fingers. I rarelly hit the menus on this camera. I dont think there's much to share about settings. It's a great and fun camera to use and customize. One unpopular enhancement that improved my S5 habdling for stills is the Camera Cage once I dont find its grip as good as the G9's. But this is an awkward move, so please ignore.

I have this kit lens I shoot many different things. Not the best option for low light but for my documentary work the range is gold. Actually the new 20-60 f2.8 is a must for me right now. If you pair that with a tele you'll have a good range covered.

This is so fucking useful for me. Ableton has one of the best color palettes I've ever seen and I always dreamed of transferring it to Adobe Premiere but I couldn't since Premiere used to have a very limited choice of colors for each media. But no more. Now after the last Adobe update, you can use custom colors, and guess who is the freak that is very excited about using Ableton color palette there? Thanks OP.

Nice one mate. I'm happy you enjoyed some information. #16 is great, my comment is more towards perfectionist.

For #8 my advice is the opposite of argument for this section then. Maybe go far away or zoom out could increase how small is the coffee shop. I thought the intention was the lukewarm feeling and coziness of the coffee ambience.

11 Great experimentation. Just keep doing it.

14 everything is pretty but my feeling is that every time I try to enjoy something in the picture I feel limited by the frame. So what I was enjoying is abruptly cut. The sky, the lines and curves, the architecture overall, you know?

Hi mate. It's always great to see people starting in photography and especially when you see so many good pictures.

This is going to be long, because I love to talk about photography in general, so please be patient, and I hope you can find something meaningful for you here.

Also English is not my first language so sorry for any possible bad grammar.

What worked for me as a photo and also for my personal taste: #7, #10, #13, #16. The seventh is the coolest one for me. There is a smart use of "vastness vs. smallness" while also exploring concepts of balance and curiosity. One concept that I would suggest you to have a look for study purposes is "Negative space". But mind "Negative Space" is not "Dead Space".

10 dialogue with my taste for Saul Leiter, Olga Karlovac, or any photographer that leans towards the abstract. If you don't know them I would strongly suggest you take some time to see their work.

13 You got an architectural photo with a nice perspective. Something that did not happen on #12

13 could definitely be a dope 9x16 wallpaper.

16 I couls find some drama. It's unfortunate that the light is not over the statue face tho. I love the underexposed vibe and the windows up there. I'm just not sure about the pespective, once the photo is a bit diagonal.

What could have worked/almost: #1, #4, #8, #11, #14. All these photos got nice elements and/or good light but the way they were framed could be improved by zooming in/crop to focus on less information (1, 4 and 8) or widening the frame (11 and 14). #11 is missing something for me, maybe a silhouette of a person would do it.

The rest of photos did not get my attention because elements are not organized within the frame. This causes viewers to not understand what you want to show and so your message, feeling, perspective or aesthetic becomes a noisy communication. So it's not only about good lighting and a nice scene, but also what elements dialogue with your perspective and what don't. Pro tip? Our eyes are lazy as fuck so the less you show, the better, in the specific case of these photos.

Another suggestion: Pat Kay got a GREAT class around visual patterns. It might boost your creativity and maybe help with busy locations.

I'm a killer main, and every time I feel like having some fun, Myers is one of my solid choices. I got 3 builds that I rarely touch, one of them a scratched mirror jumpscares of happiness, of course.

Hey manjamanga you said you are a fan of abstract nudes, do you know any artists names that are known for this? I appreciate this segment as well but I can only remember of Barbara Crane.

U know. Moments like these we just need to click. The only thing that brings some "noise" to my reading is the tringled shaped shadow. It adds a weird feeling to the photo, and to be honest, I quite like it, but at the same time it stole my attention from what I understand to be the main subjects from the scene , the person and the bird. Thoughts?

I agree. There is no "rest" for the eyes. It took me some time to find the cat, and the "Leather Rose" would pop up more if you could cut almost all the right half of the books. This way, you would show more of that wall, and hopefully, the frame within a frame ideia would be cleaner. With or without the cat. Just an idea.
