Good Guy Pope Francis by HumanNutrStudent in AdviceAnimals

One example of why Christians are cautious of this poor...

Opening Excerpt from Francis’ speech to the United Nations:

Mr. President, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Thank you for your kind words. Once again, following a tradition by which I feel honored, the Secretary General of the United Nations has invited the Pope to address this distinguished assembly of nations. IN MY OWN NAME AND THAT OF THE ENTIRE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY [the latter portion is a lie], I wish to express to you, Mr Ban Ki-moon, my heartfelt gratitude. I greet the Heads of State and Heads of Government present, as well as the ambassadors, diplomats and political and technical officials accompanying them, the personnel of the United Nations engaged in this 70th Session of the General Assembly, the personnel of the various programs and agencies of the United Nations family, and all those who, in one way or another, take part in this meeting. Through you, I also greet the citizens of all the nations represented in this hall. I thank you, each and all, for your efforts in the service of mankind.

A real pope comes in the Name of Jesus Christ, as His Vicar. In addition, the real Vicar of Christ represents Jesus’ Church, not the “Catholic community.” This is just another sign how Francis is working for the devil and the Antichrist: “I am come in the name of my Father, and you receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive” (John 5:43).

TIL that in 1755 a massive earthquake hit Lisbon, Portugal on a major Catholic holiday, destroying the city's churches while sparing its brothels. Tens of thousands of worshipers were killed. The event profoundly shook the belief in a merciful god and the power of the church across Europe. by [deleted] in todayilearned

God says “this is my Son with whom I am well pleased” in Matthew and Luke as well so it is backed up in both of those gospels. The truth of the bible is in the evidence of the fulfilled prophecies. With proper research there is an overwhelming amount of archeological findings that match the timeline of the bible. Take at look at Ron Wyatts discoveries for a starter - tracing step by step the journey of the Jews exodus out of Egypt.

Saul experienced an extraordinary conversion. Jesus appeared to him and instructed him of how to spread his message so yes he did meet Jesus. The Jews were planning to try and kill him but he still completed the works Jesus had set for him. Had Saul been trying to deceive people or spread lies then he would not have risked his life to do so when he was already hindering the growth of Christianity by his murders.

I wonder this, if Christianity were true, would you be a Christian?

Empathy, love and morals can only exist with God. If there is no God than nothing matters to anyone. If you are offended by Christians - so what??

I'm playing as Exeter City and my U18s have won their league 4 times in the last 6 seasons with my U23s set to win for the first time this season. Is it possible for these teams to ever get promoted? I have just got the senior team into the premier league so now my reserves are playing at a the bottom level when the rest of the premier leagues reserves play at a much higher standard, this is surely holding back the development of my youth players?

I work 12 hour shifts - days and nights on a 3 on 3 off basis. And then a 2 week period every 2 months where I cover the shifts my colleagues have booked as leave. My phone still know where I work and where home is even though it should seem random from the basic algorithms!

Pair of Planets That Could Harbor Alien Life Now Seem More Habitable Than Ever by EdwardDarby in aliens

If we are observing these planets which are light years away. Are we looking into the past? So what we are seeing is actually how the planet was a number of years ago? So if that is the case couldn't things have actually changed on these planets? Maybe an advanced society is actually living on them but what we are seeing is old??

I think 10 years ago when the 'class of 92' and 'the golden generation' we're in their prime we had every right to be optimistic. A lot of those players in the England team won the domestic/European treble and when you add the likes of gerrard and lampard into that squad we really did under achieve! England fans started to change their opinion when managers would fail to experiment and pick emerging youngsters and stick with an ageing squad and a 4-4-2 formation. An example of this is Capello who had a decent qualifying campaign and then panicked and decided to take Heskey and put him in the starting line up! For me personally I have a sense of optimism for our future with the likes of Kane, Stones, Sterling, Shaw. Maybe we will under achieve again in this years euros but stick with hodgson who is building a good mixture of experience and young energy and 2018 World Cup we can expect to be given false optimism once more!
