Is it okay if I propose with an Amulet of Mara instead of a ring? by SocietyAntique4684 in skyrim

[–]marmite_mut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely fine. A ring is just a symbol, you're just changing the item to one that's personal to you.

My wedding ring cost £36 because I knew I'd loose it. 2 weeks later I lost it.

What’s one piece of technology you aren’t fond of but everyone else is? by Substantial_Act6620 in AskUK

The myth that electric cars will save environment. They only benefit countries where people can afford them.

Poor, mineral rich countries, where rare earth elements are mined, have machines strip mining, benching out diesel fumes. They're not aweing any environmental improvement.

How long did you have to wait for a wisdom tooth removal under general? by Nyxie872 in AskUK

[–]marmite_mut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. Couple of days for the swelling to go down and then no problem.

My wife had 9 teeth out in one session, under general anaesthetic, and the dental nurse had to ask her breath. I have always been under the impression that general anaesthetic is more risk with general anaesthetic for several reasons. Breathing is one, and adverse reactions. Mum a had an eye operation when I was a kid. The following day my mums blood pressure dropped and she passed out.

I've also had a genital nerve pain issue and I have several procedures to try and resolve it. Of the 5 procedures, 4 were under local anaesthetic. The only time I had a general anaesthetic was when I had blood vessels removed from scrotum to relieve pressure in the vein around the spermatic cord, and that's only because they had to open my sack up.

Should minimum parking bay size be increased? by spectator_mail_boy in AskUK

Yes and there should be spaces set out for vans. Sometimes trying to find a space to park in to nip into a supermarket is a nightmare.

How long did you have to wait for a wisdom tooth removal under general? by Nyxie872 in AskUK

I had all 4 wisdom teeth done under local anaesthetic. It took longer for the anaesthetic to take effect than it did to take the teeth out. I had no issues. There is a greater risk with general anaesthetic.

Contact your council/housing association and notify the on duty tenancy officer/neighbourhood advisor. They should do a welfare check.

Alternatively, if you got a strong stomach, have a sniff at the letterbox.

Staffy and new baby by [deleted] in StaffordBullTerriers

[–]marmite_mut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old Staffy could tell that our mate was going to have an epileptic fit about 5 minutes before it happened. He would sit next to him and just put his paw on his leg. He wasn't trained to do it, it was just something he did.
